Michigan Tech 2018 Off-season - The Next Step is Just Inches Away...

Re: Michigan Tech 2018 Off-season - The Next Step is Just Inches Away...

The 1 Minute Left thing is universal. Oftentimes, the MN guy will even respond to the crowd after the "Thank you!"

Yeah, there are alot of things that are universal and I'm positive there are things that MTU does that they stole from somewhere else...I think we've done a good job of making certain things our own but stealing happens everywhere...

If they play "The Engineer Song" or "The Copper Country Anthem" and they start singing "In heaven there is no snow" or "In heaven there are no refs" we know some thievery is going on. "Halftime" seems to be ours as well.

I'm pretty sure e^x was stolen from an eastern school and adapted to make "beat'em beat'em! MTU!" fit at the end.

Clarkson also does Halftime I believe.

That series next year is going to be so confusing.

I've heard many Ivies and "advanced" schools use "That's all right, that's okay, you'll be working for us someday."

I've heard Tech Once as TKE Once as well.

I don't hear that one so much any more. Then again we don't lose like we use to. :D

I am in the unfortunate position that my training leads both here in Huntsville and down in Houston hold aerospace engineering degrees from AA. They're both wonderful people with terrible taste. This is going go hurt. Thankfully neither of them cares about college hockey; if they did, I might have to come up with a Muck Farv sign to put up in my office.

Please tell me that y'all are calling Marv's predecessor Rod or Ron or Robbie or something...

If I'm wrong I apologize. The only fans I've heard do some of these things are tech fans.

Re: Michigan Tech 2018 Off-season - The Next Step is Just Inches Away...

I am focused on a pretty small group of people, but they annoy me a lot now...except biddy

To be fair, Biddy is pretty much the only UMD fan I've met in person, so...

Oh wait, no, I met RWD years ago, back when Duluth averaged 10 wins a season at best. Yeah, she strikes me as the UMD fan who would get arrogant with success. :p

She’s one of them...orlett is the other.

RWD was insufferable before Duluth won their championship, as was Orlett.

Yes. Although once you get Orlett out of his persona, he's actually really cool. No such thing with RWD. And don't even start with Ciskie.

With D, I always figured it was sort of a joke. With Ciskie, he's just the worst homer out there short of Jack Edwards, and that's well known.

The really sad thing about Ciskie is that he wasn't always like that. The first couple years of his announcing, he was really good, and barely a homer. Now? Sonmor shakes his head at how homer Ciskie has become.

Interesting to see this morning that in the the first 22 picks of the OHL draft, there are three of Marv's commits selected.

Not which option is better: Marv loses a bunch of top recruits to the OHL, or they all go to Michigan and Marv looks like the ******* he is and runs out of scholarships for all of his commitments.

All he case about is the W and what Red thinks about him. Going to the Frozen 4 has helped his stock in A2. You know the B1G mentality, they don't care what they have to do as long as they win.

U of MN is willing "fire" one of their best coaches ever.
MSU (football and basketball especially) will recruit any headcase they can find as long as they help them win.
U of MI will over recruit like crazy to make sure they can pick who they want, the rest be ******.
I can't figure out how OSU and PSU are recruiting so well.

To be fair, Marv and other early departure schools are forced to slightly over recruit. That said, Marv takes it to an unhealthy level.
