Someone on the team needs to get a hattie yet this year. We are coming close to one:)

I wasn't that thrilled with this game. the turnovers, the giving them life at the end and the lackadaisical attitude was an issue if you ask me. We got lucky on the 3ed goal with our guy knocking their guy down in our end, and then we get a break that results in a goal at the other end. I thought we should have been called.
I'd like to see us play better.
second the pp. I've really been wondering what the heck it is about the pp that makes it such a struggle. To me we dust off the puck too much and our cross ice passes aren't good, so we spring a guy loose, get the look we want, and then the pass is lousy. the good teams set up and get one timers. I can't remember when we have had good one timers, but i'd like to see us make better cross ice passes and get our shots off quicker.
Plus we had a lot of stick work on our part and we took way too many penalties.

Told the team we need to have our best period in third, but we started cheating, little disappointed. Didn't like GA.
The points are important. We'll be ready tomorrow.
We had a lot of chances, but didn't go in. Can be trouble to let a team hang around.
Need to regroup and play a cleaner game then the third.
Time to start playing championship hockey for 60 mins.

I thought we looked great the first 2 periods, we should have had more than 3 goals on the board but overall we heavily controlled play, I think UAH had 7 shots after 2 periods. That third period was as ugly as they come though, we got dominated in puck possession and just out skated and out played. Need to play 3 full periods tomorrow.

Both of the goals from Sturos were SHG. If he would have scored a third, that would have tied an NCAA record. George Awada of SCSU had a hat trick of all shorties in 1998 against...You guessed it, Michigan Tech. 5 other guys have done it too.

Thanks for the information. Interesting stuff. Good to know. I bet many did not know this.
