I swear to god it's like we don't want the cup.

Re: MICHIGAN TECH.... 2016-17 season. The 96th season of Hockey.

Dominated the first 3 minutes of the 3rd and look like garbage ever since, what the hell is it with this team.

Re: MICHIGAN TECH.... 2016-17 season. The 96th season of Hockey.

Unbelievable, we dominate 2 periods, let them hang around, and then hand it to them.

We' ve got to finish games. Not good enough to get some shots and control possession for 2 periods.

Bye-bye MacNaughton, it was nice knowing you.

I couldn't be any more pissed, this team has found every possible way to fuck things up all season. This team has been a massive disappointment.

Well they played well most of the time, but you know, you have to not make those bonehead mistakes late in the game and it's something we have done all year. We get like brain fade. You already know if Bemidji has the lead in the third you can forget it. We left early and got burned, and really all we had to do was keep them from scoring.

I thought it was really bush league of smith to come out of the box before the end of the game just to get a shot in on their guys.. That was not what I expect of one of our players and I thought totally uncalled for.

It's also telling that they scored three goals in 4 shots in the third. wow.

Very bush league, I understand the frustration but you don't do that. I hope he sits tomorrow. Also like I said before, I think Redmond needs a rest, too many soft goals lately, not that they're his fault, so many mistakes in front of him, but he seems to be fading some.

This team just seems to lack any drive or will to win, there's no eagerness when they really needs to be.

Re: MICHIGAN TECH.... 2016-17 season. The 96th season of Hockey.

This sucks. That gift of a goal by Redmond really hurt too. Just a different game 1-1.

Mel's postgame with Dirk:
Had opportunities we didn't capitalize on
Disappointed in our 3rd. Have to play harder than that.
We gave them this game. A game this big to let them take it. But they found a way to win.
Giveaways resulted in their 2nd and 3rd.
Not a great performance from goalie on out.
A lot of passengers tonight. Lead in 3rd should be routine to finish a team off.
Didn't create much in 3rd. Didn't give up much but we gave them life.
One of angus' worst performance off the year. Have to review that position too.
Talked to the team, this series will not define our year. Need to win tomorrow, very important game.

I am reluctantly in the camp to sit the #1 goalie in the NCAA. The team is resting behind him. Time to play like you need to prevent a grade A, rather than thinking you will collect the rebound.

I was at Michigan, at this point in the season that is not an option.
Get some rest, refocus, and get after it again tomorrow night.
4 points down with 4 games to go if they can bring it tomorrow.
Bemidji has Huntsville and Mankato, we have Ferris and Northern.
Need to win out now 5 in a row

The only one I'd consider starting is Kero, and even then I don't think it's a good idea. Too much pressure on him at this point in the year. Redmond needs to double down.

No need to put that kind of pressure on. Very unlikely that our position changes in the standings, and winning out does nothing for PWR.

Get the rest we need where we need it, get our forwards to stop relying on the D to score, and make a playoff run.

Agreed. Some folks are acting like MacInnes won the MacNaughton every year, based off a 3-year period in the mid-70s where he went 2-for-3, and picked up a national title on the off year.

Re: MICHIGAN TECH.... 2016-17 season. The 96th season of Hockey.

Man, I'd be leery of sitting Angus. IMHO. But then again I'm no coach.

I thought they completely outplayed Bemidji, and the stretch of the game where BSU scored the tying and go ahead goals, the stretch internet feed was out so I missed much of the third period. Man was I ****ed when the feed reestablished and the Huskies were down 3-2!

Just a bummer to drop that one after dominating the first 2 periods.

The Cup is important and it would mean home playoff games, if you want to be in the NCAAs winning out is the only way to get there.

I agree starting March 3rd. This team can win on the road, and your home ice through the playoffs statement assumes BSU makes a playoff run as well. If they get upset, we'd have home ice.

And TBH, our home record isn't that great this year. A road championship might be a better option for us.

Re: MICHIGAN TECH.... 2016-17 season. The 96th season of Hockey.

As I mentioned to the hubster last night, as much as you want to win the MacNaughton, the Broadmoor is the more important of the two.
