Re: MICHIGAN TECH.... 2016-17 season. The 96th season of Hockey.

Hope tonight's officiating crew is better that last weekends. Waited a month to watch some good hockey and was disappointed last weekend; in the team and officiating.

It will be interesting to see if Steman gets back in. Maybe Pederson or Brice need a try. May not be the series to try them out in though.

It looks like the Mining Gazette doesn't have a paywall anymore. Injury update from yesterday's article:
Looking for a spark Michigan Tech seeks better effort against Minnesota State

Correct, but supposedly you do not get all the articles or as complete of an article. Not sure how they do that nor how well it's working but welcome to FREE

Pederson is still on the roster I see.
May need him tomorrow with Brice going down.

Re: MICHIGAN TECH.... 2016-17 season. The 96th season of Hockey.

Erik Pedersen returned to Canada on Wednesday and will play tomorrow night for the UOIT Ridgebacks in the OUAA.

Well, I'll be...

EDIT: A few weeks ago, this was your first post:

When was the last time MTU Huskies scored a power play goal? I believe someone said back in November. You have arguably one of the best play makers in the Alberta Junior Hockey League, Erik Pedersen, 50 assists in 47 games last season, sitting in the stands. Mel says he's close, why not give him a shot? What have they got to lose?

So what's your connection to Pedersen?

Well, might as well pack it in for the season, not going to end well.

Beef looking a little shaky. Good to see Heinonen going. One more guys!

Re: MICHIGAN TECH.... 2016-17 season. The 96th season of Hockey.

PA announcer Mitch Lake: "One minute remaining in the third period."

Fans: "Thank you!"

Mitch: "Ya, you betcha!"

Magic.

Re: MICHIGAN TECH.... 2016-17 season. The 96th season of Hockey.

Well they worked hard and dominated at times but the bone head mistakes really have been hurting us all season. It's extremely frustrating!
We were lucky to get the tie if you ask me. MSU was terrible the first 30 minutes after that they were the better team. Our forecheck was dominant in the first, but in the third we really were just a step too slow to force the turnovers and we didn't back check well. Still the unbelievable turnovers is what hurt us, just drives me nuts.
We have got to play better!

I don't think I've ever been more frustrated at a Tech team as I am with this one, under Jamie we just sucked, I expected us to suck so really not too much frustration. This team should be doing a lot better than they are so it is very frustrating.

Re: MICHIGAN TECH.... 2016-17 season. The 96th season of Hockey.

If only Beef could've had one of those last two. And those sloppy turnovers, wow.

Mel's postgame with Dirk:
Real good hockey game from a fan standpoint
We did a pretty good job but beat ourselves didn't like the GA, 2x1s etc, we beat ourselves
We fought back, proud of the guys
Brice, bad hit on him, will be out for a while, blindside hit
2 for 3 on PP, moved it better. Slowed it down too much on 5x3
Heinonen, trying to get him back by net, good overall game tonight
We're without 4 good players, guys did a good job
Want wins, but more about how you're playing and we beat ourselves.

Re: MICHIGAN TECH.... 2016-17 season. The 96th season of Hockey.

The really frustrating part is that Bemidji has opened the door since Thanksgiving. They're 4-7-2 since that wobble against Princeton. Didn't look very good against a bad Ferris team tonight either.

If you think there's any chance of catching them, you can't nickel-&-dime your way there. Tech has all the talent they need but not near enough mental strength.
