The only way WCHA.tv is shiny and new tonight is if you bought a new monitor with a high gloss screen.
New city, same low-def, sometimes choppy feed being exported from BSU.

Another W!

Mel's postgame interview:
We're 9 games in, every game you try to prepare, human nature to relax, just a little off against BSU you'll be in trouble
Good start until penalty problems, 5 mins to kill in 2nd period, too many mistakes, most of it is mental
Told guys - we'll have night where things don't go our way
We did a lot of good things, difficult, haven't seen a team with this style
Overall, hard fought, important win for our team, scored on our opportunities and good goaltending
as we go forward, it'll get harder to win, but 2 points are huge
2 points are huge, they'll be big at end of year
Eick is a great skater, can handle being thrown out there on PK continuously
Good job by guys out there at end of game, good team win
Told guys to enjoy the win, east to get frustrated, but have to enjoy it, good individual efforts, Phillips, Eick
Go around college hockey, how many are undefeated, how many road teams win, difficult, our guys did everything to try and win
Have to be honest, we can do things better, mabe change some lines to get some guys playing better
A lot of good things, don't think they had many Grade A chances in 3rd, overall proud of this team, 5 road wins already, doing a lot of good things
No other MTU team has started 9-0 - credit to our players, we have resilient players, looking forward to tomorrow

Can't say enough about how hard this team battles when they are not necessarily playing their best. That, is what is winning us games lately. Heart and playing from ahead, they have learned how to play with the lead.

This is really good stuff. Absolutely amazing.

Hardly Tech's best game this year. In fact, probably one of their two or three worst thus far.

But they still break the school record start by going 9-0-0. That's some impressive resolve and work ethic (not to mention more than a bit of luck). Also, Phillips is the real deal.

Dirk refrained from pointing out that no other Tech team has started 9-0-0 until near the end of the broadcast, and Mel did a good job demurring. However, if you watch that huge wink and thumbs up at the end of the video of his radio interview, you know Mel is pumped. It's great. :D

A win tomorrow might mean a #1 in front of Michigan Tech for the Mankato series. Think about that for a second.

I don't know if we'll get it without a loss from BU and UML. Still a pretty crazy concept to grasp that Michigan Tech is this close and actually has a chance going into tomorrow night. I'm just finishing up watching the game, missed it live. Certainly not their best...outshot badly. Of the 19 season since Bob Mancini left after the 1995-96 this season already falls in the top 8.

I think we would need BU to lose, I think we jump over UML with a sweep regardless as the voting was already pretty close and I expect we would pick up more first place votes than they would. But we need to pound the Beavers first!

HEY Tech won! I really thought that was the game that would break it. Smooth sailing from now on, they're gonna win so many games that Billy and Joey will get HC jobs, half the team will go pro, and expectations will be so low next year that we'll be able to take some teams by surprise again. ;)

Seriously, what got in the water up in Houghton this year? From an outsiders perspective, it seems that you don't have any "superstars" leading the way, but you just have 4 solid lines of players all pitching in, doing their part and just getting the job done... Very blue collar work ethic with this team...
