Re: Michigan Tech 2014-2015

There used to be a sign on the stairwell down to arena level right by University Images that claimed full capacity was 5683. That always seemed like a very random number.

There are always more people than 4200 in there for graduation ceremonies, but I don't think Tech will be selling a lot of seats on the playing surface for this series.

Re: Michigan Tech 2014-2015

A lot of excitement around these games.
I'm Very glad for our team and players that they are getting results for all the hard, hard work they have put out. I think this weekend will be very close. Michigan has turned a corner and is playing very well the last three games. They blew out a good Lowell team and BU is better than you think there jj. Plus so is UNH.

For me it's just the how do they look test. And they look good, but.... It sure would be nice to cut down on all these turnovers. Michigan is an up and down team, they can finish. We have to keep the turnovers down.
I look for a very similar set of games to last year. 2-1, 3-2. something like that, with end to end action.

Thanks to Coach Berenson for bringing his team and all the publicity that goes with it, up to Houghton.

Huskies number 1 baby!

Re: Michigan Tech 2014-2015

turnovers and stay out of the penalty box! whats the Michigan goalie like? Ferris' Motte was unbelievably good, we really should have scored more. these games will be taking us up to a new level.

the Friday Blue Line Luncheon with Red and Stanley attending is by reservation only. get yours in by 5 pm Wednesday. who would have thought? remember when it was 15 or 20 of us?

congrats to Phillips! he certainly deserved it, what a performance, the first of many this season I hoping.

Re: Michigan Tech 2014-2015

By my count looks like about 10 reserved seats left for Saturday. And a pretty big spike in sales for Friday night with <300 reserved tickets remaining, when I checked yesterday morning there were about 600 remaining.

Maybe, but I'm not sure that many people are even allowed in the building now.

Maybe, but I'm not sure that many people are even allowed in the building now.

We had more than 4200 against Lake State in 2012. Seating capacity is listed as 4200, so maybe 4400 is the max including the 200 standing room tickets? I don't think the suites are included in this number so maybe we're at a little over 4500? Who knows.

Last year I remember getting an email from the school saying that school was cancelled and all non-essential workers were to stay home... but the game against northern would go on as scheduled. Because when the national weather service says there is "a dangerous blizzard" and travel is "extremely hazardous and advised only for emergencies" that seems like a good time to drop the puck. I'm not complaining, I am kind of proud.

In the spirit of putting hockey above common sense, safety, and the law, I hope the fire marshall helps stuff the arena past listed capacity because that's how Tech likes to get it done.

Re: Michigan Tech 2014-2015

Gonna guess the fire department would look the other way in that backwoods town. ;)

They'll be drinking in suites watching to make sure it's under control. I know I've served them beer during a fire call in a building I was living in back then.

What was the team giving away for this game? Money?
If they put 4200+ in the rink for that game, I have not doubt that both games this weekend will be 4000+.
I fear the line at the nacho stand will be substantial this weekend.
