Re: Michigan Tech 2014-2015

Fan voting for Hobey Baker is now open, Michigan Tech has 2 nominees, Tanner Kero and Jamie Philips. You may vote once per day and only vote for one player...

Re: Michigan Tech 2014-2015

Okay...which one of you will hack the vote? It's the only way to make it interesting.

Re: Michigan Tech 2014-2015

Anyone know of a reference that lists the hockey Assistant Coaches in Tech's history? Online sources such as hockeydb.com don't go back very far for assistants or only list the head coach, and none of Tech's printed hockey history materials seem to list assistants. Seems like the annual team photos at the Mac might be the only source.

Check Elite Prospects.

I was trying to see who the assistants were in the 70s/80s when I was a kid. I remember the head coaches, but not many of the assistants. Thanks for the tip on EliteProspects. They were more complete than hockeydb, but still had major holes. I was able to reconstruct the assitants list from old team photos. Seems Tech didn't use an assistant until 1957 (Bill Lucier), didn't use a second assistant until 1973 (Rick Yeo) and didn't use a goalie coach until 1980 (Bill Rowe). The assistants (including volunteer/goalie coaches) were in order of arrival: Bill Lucier, Dave Draper, Dave Confrey, Dan Farrell, Glen Weller, Rick Yeo, Herb Boxer, Jim Nahrgang, Bill Rowe, Mel Pearson, Bruce Horsch, Darcy Way, Ken Martel, Mark Leach, Mark Vichorek, Scott White, Peter Wilkinson, Marc Boxer, Mark Maroste, Ian Kallay, Pat Mikesch, Randy McKay, Chris Tok, Damon Whitten, Dieter Kochan, Bill Muckalt, Steve Shields, Joe Shawhan. I may be missing a goalie coach or two.

I would recommend sending your research back to EliteProspects. They're usually pretty good about updating their database.

Re: Michigan Tech 2014-2015

I fully expect Mel to absolutely tear someone at the WCHA offices a new one following this game and the major penalty call that was made on Watson. On a clean hit which no call was made during game play, Watson doesn't get a minor penalty, but a 5 MINUTE MAJOR penalty and then gets tossed from the game for having words with one of the refs. Absolutely AWFUL call on the play. That ref deserved any earful he got from Tech and then some...

Re: Michigan Tech 2014-2015

Not sure how to feel about this 1 point.

Mel's postgame interview:
Given circumstances, huge point, we were behind all game, battled back, lost Neville early and Watson out, short bench
Their 5 min PP might've been key, stopped them, we have to play with that urgency from start
Good start, but gave up PPG and had to battle back all night
They put pressure up high on our guys, we'll make adjustments, like we did late in game
Didn't like their PPG, lost battle on boards, then out of position, need to do better on boards
We'll play better tomorrow night, not sure on lineup, We'll see on Neville, no Gould/Hietila, so a little banged up
Great effort by Leibinger and end of game during NMU break
Did a lot of forcing puck into areas we shouldn't have
Nearly sold out for tomorrow, should be loud, we need fan support, big game tomorrow
1st OT game, odd, big point, told our team we need to keep finding ways to get points on road

Re: Michigan Tech 2014-2015

After watching the Tech game, I was going to tune into the UNH v Dartmouth game online via NBCSN... but then this happened:

CHAT ID: 4FB568A4-4AAB-49F1-B97E-115CDB21C80A
Problem: Why am I not able to watch NBCSN online? This is part of my cable package.

RYAN_ > My Issue: Why am I not able to watch NBCSN online? This is part of my cable package.

* TWENTY FIVE MINUTES PASSES*

Hannz > Hello RYAN_, Thank you for contacting Comcast Live Chat Support. My name is Hannz. Please give me one moment to review your information.

Hannz > I hope you're having a good day!

Hannz > I understand you are having issues watching NBCSN online, correct?

RYAN_ > YES

Hannz > I see. To set expectation, your chat has been routed to Video Technical Department. I want to make sure that you get the best support, Ryan. I'd be glad to connect you now to our Online chat Department who can definitely take care of your concern.

Hannz > Would that be fine with you?

RYAN_ > Yes, I would like to get support from someone... maybe without having to wait 30 minutes again would be nice.

Hannz > I understand. I would be happy to get you in touch with the right department that can further help you with your issue. But before I transfer you over to the next department, will there be anything else I can help you with as your Cable-Technical Representative? I would be glad to assist you further, Ryan.

RYAN_ > Well you didn't assist me with anything, but yes, transfer me to someome else so I can wait in que again.

RYAN_ > This is why I *love* comcast...

Hannz > Just a recap we will be connecting you to the right department for your issue to be resolved. I apologize for the incovenience and having your chat misrouted to our department. This is a good opportunity to tell you that I enjoyed assisting you and is looking forward for your continued patronage. Please stay connected to the chat for the next available representative. Thank you for choosing Comcast for your lifestyle needs. We appreciate your business and value you as a customer! Have a great day!

RYAN_ > Thank you for all the canned replies...

Hannz > Please wait, while the problem is escalated to another analyst

RYAN_ > My Issue: Why am I not able to watch NBCSN online? This is part of my cable package.

Keith > Please wait, while the problem is escalated to another analyst

RYAN_ > My Issue: Why am I not able to watch NBCSN online? This is part of my cable package.

JENELYN > It's good to have you on chat, how's your day going?

RYAN_ > Great I've been dumped off to yet another person. Such great customer service...

RYAN_ > Can we just solve the problem?

JENELYN > I understand thaty you are unable to watch nbcsn online, no worries we will do everything to resolve the issue.

JENELYN > May I please know what error appears when you try to watch it onlihne?

JENELYN > *online?

RYAN_ > The video player says that NBCSN is not part of my TV package.

JENELYN > I understand would you mind if I put you on hold for 3-5 minutes while I am checking on your package and channel line up?

RYAN_ > Sure that would be great...

JENELYN > Ryan by the way may I Please have your complete addrerss first including the zip code, this will help me to pull up the right account of yours?

RYAN_ > [ADDRESS] I only have one active account with Comcast, but a month ago I two account with Comcast in CO and MN and BOTH had NBCSN as part of the package...

JENELYN > Thank you.

JENELYN > Checking it now.

RYAN_ > Hello?

JENELYN > HI Ryanthank you for patiently waiting upon checking on your account I see here that NBCSN is not included on the channel line up of your package.

RYAN_ > Yes, it is. I watched it last night at home. I watch it every week. I've been watching it for more than two years that I've been an Xfinity customer.

JENELYN > I understand Ryan but base on the package channel line up it didn't includes but no worries we will try to refresh your email settings to allow you to watch nbcns again online, may I please have the comcast email address that you were using?

RYAN_ >

JENELYN > Thank you.

JENELYN > Please hold on for 2-3 minutes/

RYAN_ > What channel package is shown on my account?

JENELYN > Starter channels, but nbcns is not included, but we can still recover it since the email address that you were using is still associated on your old account with no active comcast service that affects you to unable to watch nbcns online. For us to resolve the issue we are in need to transfer the email address to gthe new account number that has active service, will this be fine?

RYAN_ > What is channel #206 on digital starter?

JENELYN > But this will take 5-7 minutes will this be fine?

JENELYN > Let me check

RYAN_ > I have the digital starter package correct? What is channel #206 on digital starter?

JENELYN > Checking on it

Re: Michigan Tech 2014-2015

JENELYN > Hi Ryan I am unable to locate and see if what channel occurs on 206, if this will be fine to give you the answer with 206 I am in need to transfer you to cable team, they are the one who has access on channels?

RYAN_ > You can look it up on the internet. I takes 30 seconds. You just put in the zip code of the location (80022) and it shows your channel line up. Why is this so hard. I've spent 44 minutes trying to resolve this stupid problem!!!!!

RYAN_ > You work for comcast and you don't know what channels I have???????

JENELYN > Yes I am and the only channels I see here is not with numbers Ryan it shows by names. And NBcns is not included.

RYAN_ > First of all it is NBCSN, and yes..... it is included. It is channel 206 on the Digital Starter package which is what you have been billing me for... for two years now!

RYAN_ > Just transfer me now to someone else because you clearly have no idea what you are doing.

JENELYN > I understand Ryan but if ti includes with channels we don't have access on it, alright please hold on

JENELYN > Please wait, while the problem is escalated to another analyst

RYAN_ > My Issue: Why am I not able to watch NBCSN online? This is part of my cable package.

Erwin > It's a pleasure to have you on chat. I hope you're doing well today!

RYAN_ > Hi, well I'm on to person #4 on this chat.... great customer service once again Xfinity...

RYAN_ > Wow same boilerplate opening line as the other three good start.

Erwin > That's not good to know that you cannot watch NBCSN online.

RYAN_ > What cable channel package is on my account and what is channel # 206 on my channel package?

RYAN_ > I'll give you a hint. It is NBCSN.

Erwin > I am on it Ryan.

Erwin > Please allow me 2-3 minutes to pull up your account so that I can give you the correct information.

RYAN_ > That would be swell. I've already been waiting 50+ minutes, what's a few more minutes...

Erwin > Thank you.

Erwin > While waiting, let me share this link to you http://www.comcast.net/benefits/ , with this you can actually explore on what you can get from Comcast. Moreover, if you like to know more about comcast products and features, please feel free to visit this site: http://www.comcast.com/localization...E-82F1-9D3BB822FF49&lid=4ShopBundles&lpos=Nav

RYAN_ > You're sending me to an infomercial about all the great services Comcast offers? How about just fix the ones I'm already paying for every month before you try to get me to spend more money each month?

Erwin > Thank you for patiently waiting.

Erwin > Ryan, as I have checked on your account.

Erwin > NBC SN is on channel 689

RYAN_ > For those that will be reading this transcript later, it has now been more than 55 minutes for Comcast employees to try and determine which channels are part of my cable TV package...

Erwin > Ryan, please check if your can view channel 689.

RYAN_ > Um no it isn't. There isn't even a channel 689 in my neighborhood.

RYAN_ > Not even in digital preferred...

RYAN_ > By the way, I'm not at home or I wouldn't be trying to WATCH NBCSN ONLINE... Which is why this chat started in the first place. What city channel line up are you looking at?

Erwin > How about channel 73

RYAN_ > There are no channels between 70 (MSNBC) and 80 (Shopping).

RYAN_ > Do you know what city I live in?

Erwin > [ADDRESS] This is the address that I am checking Ryan.

RYAN_ > Hello?

Erwin > Ryan, may I ask if you can watch this channel on your TV?

RYAN_ > YES, I WATCH NBCSN EVERY WEEK ON MY TV. I HAVE BEEN DOING SO FOR OVER TWO YEARS!

RYAN_ > IT IS CHANNEL 206.

Erwin > Ryan, may I ask if you try watching NBCSN online before?

RYAN_ > Yes I have watched it online before. Tell you what since we are getting nowhere and I have already wasted more than 60 minutes of my time, how about you apply a $60 credit to my bill (one $ for each minute I've wasted) and I'll just end the chat because clearly, no one at Comcast seems to be able to solve this simple problem.

RYAN_ > Not to mention the show I wanted to watch ended more than 30 minutes ago...

Erwin > Ryan, I cant process a credit to your account for $60. I can only process a $20 credit maximum.

RYAN_ > How about three credits of $20 each?

Erwin > Ryan, that is all I can give.

RYAN_ > Sure that would be great. Clearly Comcast really values my time and continued business.

Erwin > Ryan, I would like to set proper expectations that this will reflect on your next bill.

Erwin > I will now process the credit to your account.

RYAN_ > Proper expectations? How about being able to watch all the channels I am paying for... That seems like a reasonable expectation, right?

Erwin > I understand Ryan.

RYAN_ > Before we end the chat, can you at least give me a nice canned sign-off about how important my business is to Comcast and that I am a valued customer? That would make me feel a lot better.

Erwin > Ryan, I have successfully process the credit for $20 on your account for your inconvenience.

Erwin > Is there anything else I can help you with today?

RYAN_ > No, I can't think of anything else that Comcast can help me with at this time. Nothing at all...

Erwin > Thank you for choosing Comcast for your entertainment needs! Our goal is to provide you with a consistently superior customer experience – that’s our guarantee. Re: Michigan Tech 2014-2015

You know them well. To their credit, they couldn't offer me free HBO because I already have free HBO, free Showtime and free Starz from other phone calls in my two years as a customer. All of these channels for free for at least another 4+ months. But hey, it wouldn't surprise me if they tried to offer me something I already have because they clearly don't know what I have.
