Furne has never skated well enough to play Mel's system. I think he's a healthy scratch.

You must have eaten at Stone's Throw. Sad to hear your food wasn't up to expectations, it's generally pretty good. Try REVEREND'S just half a block west on the same side of the street, or CITY TAP, just a couple doors north on Main Street from Wooster.

There are decent sized parking lots BEHIND the businesses on both north and south main street, but you have to access them from the side streets (Court and Prospect).

according to K. Gordon at the BG Sentinel-T, "Most of the band members were alums."
how does that work? you get to keep the stripey costume after you graduate?

anyway, points to them for showing up. don't see that often.

Some members pay the $40 to keep theirs when they graduate.

Yep, that game pretty much sums up Tech's season. And can we get a new color man on the broadcast before next year?? I hate this guy. If Tech has so **** much speed and talent that he is always talking about they'd WIN games. And No it wasn't a "great effort" tonight!! Bah. Another year of... until next year....

hockey sucks. lacrosse is better. bowling is more exciting. even diving keeps me on the edge of my seat. oh wait. there WAS diving.
anyway hockey sucks. its ok. I'll be over it by tomorrow.

There is no way to classify this season other than to call it a complete and utter failure. I'm disgusted.

This season was a failure, there's nothing else to say. Dirk and Mel were talking about the progress we've made this season but I have to ask, WHAT PROGRESS?? We can't beat anyone even halfway decent and lose games to teams that are not even that. I think we actually took multiple steps backwards this year, sadly each successive year in Mel's tenure has actually looked worse than the previous year. I like Mel and he is definitely a better coach than Jamie was but I also haven't seen much progress either. Oh well, there's always next year...

That is going to be one long bus ride back to Houghton, and I'm glad I won't be on board.

This team has a lot of questions and soul searching to do in the offseason, because they never should have been on the road for the playoffs in the first place. There were so many blown chances throughout the season to earn the one additional point they needed to host.

I hope Mel starts feeling a little more urgency going into his fourth year. He'll have recruited at least half of next year's team. If any of the current underclassmen are entertaining thoughts of leaving for the AHL, they're delusional.

the color guy is a Michigan State sports info dude, although a Tech grad and local guy. why we cant use our own people I dont know. Randy does a greqt job. Brent is good too. Wes fills in sometimes and is good. Mitch Lake can talk hockey. most of the Misfits could take a decent shot at it. all of the season ticket holders could fill in. if the accent doesnt matter. :) at least its not a UofM guy, like our coa ... oh wait. at least its not a Northern grad like .... oh my. is it med time yet? and I didnt even get into my feminist rant about having a woman do color. the area has alot of hockey Moms who know alot of hockey.

Don't look now, but NMU just made it 3-2 on the powerplay. Who wants to bet they end up in Grand Rapids? :rolleyes:
