Re: Michigan Tech 09-10 Season Thread: Let's go to Detroit. Twice.

He should have just fought the goalie.

Rinne is a Finn, therefore he is probably soft, so it wouldn't have been much of a fight. :D

In other NHL/AHL Alums news...

Chris Durno recorded a two-minute minor for high sticking in the Avs' come-from-behind win over Calgary, as Craig Anderson continues to virtually flip the bird at doubters. He had three shots on goal in the 3-0 win at Edmental.

Andy Sutton took out a couple of Rangers last night, just seconds apart.

Chris Conner leads the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Pens in scoring.

Tyler Shelast as a 1-1-2 line in eight games with the AHL's newly-minted Texas Stars.

In other news, John Scott is one of only two players for the Wild who have a positive +/- rating.

And an uncalled check-from-behind on Andrew Cogliano. Just saying :o

I've noticed that NHL refs tend to let the borderline CFB calls go more often than NC$$ refs, unless it's also really obvious boarding or the guy getting checked sells it well enough.

Not saying that it's right, I'm just sayin'...

Speaking of our man Chris Conner....

It appears as if he's been called up by the Pens, and will be there for about three weeks. :)

Re: Michigan Tech 09-10 Season Thread: Let's go to Detroit. Twice.

Weds Durno had a "laying" in the crease goal reviewed. Hit the post and was headed in, but got covered by the goalies pad so it was inconclusive.

are you snowed in?

Not sure how much snow, but the wind is at 25 to 30 mph. So I guess "semi-blizzard".

Do have 4 to 6 foot drift in about 50 feet of the driveway. Will be getting the tractor out tomorrow.

Re: THB Update

Twitch Boy shares with us his experience in Colorado Springs from last weekend.

I feel bad that he didn't enjoy the arcade. :(

When I was there, it was:

1. Grab a beer for $2 at the bar in the middle of the arcade/boardwalk.
2. Play some games.
3. Grab another beer.
4. Play some games.

Repeat until you run out of quarters/change (since there are games there for as little as a penny) or you don't want to bother getting more change.

It was NPB. Most of the "classics" you can now get on Xbox Live or iPhone or whatever, so I focused on pinball. If I would have seen a High Speed 2: the Getaway, Black Knight 2000, or an Addams Family, I would have squeed like a little girl.

Cedar Point's arcade kicks eleven kinds of ***. And it's all indoors so the games are in better shape.

It's a sad thing that the video arcade is a dying breed.

CP....MI or IA I assume?

And yeah, I mostly stuck with the pinball/shooter games (not Area 51 stuff, but the games with the real BBs). I really liked the boardwalk atmosphere, though, in Manitou. Yes, I agree, it takes a toll on the games, but jeez, you don't see that stuff in MN.

I even did all those cheesy "peepshow" games, the dancing clown game (which was freaky), etc.

And Addam's Family pinball is the BESTEST. T2 a close second, though.

Re: THB Update

Cedar Point is basically the only good thing about Ohio. ;)

Ok, good to know. I asked some friends, and they all assumed IA. :o

Well, really, can you blame me? When one mentions IA, OH, or MI, is there anything good to come out of there in a normal situation? :D
