Michigan at NMU: Yet Another Reason to Hate Wal-Mart....

A blowout with Michigan physically dominating.

I see Michigan getting the sweep if and only if Racine is starting both games. Got to go with the hot hand. Nothing against Jared, but he hasn't exactly set the world on fire as of late.
HAHAHAHAHA!!!! Rule 1: Never talk sh## before the games! I like the fact that my two favorite teams in sports didn't lose to Michigan. So enjoyed sitting in Cowboy stadium watching Alabama have Michigan buried before the 1st Quarter was over and now seeing you predict a blowout and physical domination and come out of it with Zero wins. To the rest of the UM fans, a tip of the cap on a hard fought series. Win lose or draw, it was great college hockey and has been a terrific rivalry. For MGoBlue, got any hot stock tips or a good NFL Parlay for tomorrow...genius!

Re: Michigan at NMU: Yet Another Reason to Hate Wal-Mart....

To be honest, I'm going to miss the matchups with UoM. Of all the teams NMU plays, these are the games I most look forward to for the possible 'Cat victory. I know our all time record isn't that great against the block M, but the wins that have occurred were the most satisfying.

One reason is that my father-in-law is an M grad and former hockey player back in the late 50s. I have always enjoyed gloating a little whenever the 'Cats achieved a W over the Wolverines. That hasn't happened too many times--only 13 out of 49 games since 1997 (that's when I married his daughter).

I think NMU will play the M on occasion from here on out, but those games will most likely only be in A2 or a neutral site.

For the time being, it's nice to know that NMU has the most recent, sweet, satisfying victory!

Can the Cardiac 'Cats please not have any more third period melt downs? Very happy to have them hang on, but there was no reason to let UofM back into the game either night.

So it would have been different if UM had scored two in the first period instead of the third? There was no meltdown tonight. No loss of composure. Michigan is an explosive team that averaged 45 shots and 5 goals a game coming in NMU held them to 32 and 3.5 and got a win and a tie. That's a pretty good weekend!

Good for you, and your team. Took advantage of injuries and a suspension. Try playing games with willy poopy pants on defense and see what happens. ;)

Maybe your program can actually win something in the CCHA before it goes away this season. I mean, isn't that what solace UNO fans took when they left, too? (Beating Michigan their last home series?) I mean, isn't that setting the bar low for such a successful program?

A
What about 2 3rd period comeback wins against Wisconsin. NMU led in neither game against Notre Dame, and closed the gap in the third period, scoring the only goal of the period n the Saturday night game, to cut the lead to 3-2. Last night was the only time NMU has lost a 3rd period lead this season. Try again.

Getting outscored 7-1 in the 3rd period for the previous 2 series is what I would call a problem, davyd83. They may have not coughed up the lead, but in my experience the cats have a bad habit of letting opponents back into games. Complacency until the opponent is within 1 goal is not going to serve this team well late into the season. Apparently you enjoy the nail-biters, I just want a win.

Took advantage of injuries? Ummm...NMU had a few players out with injuries as well. Suspension...that was something completely under the control of Mr Trouba, and he may yet sit a couple more, so get used to it. Red won't use those excuses. But you can, I suppose.

Michigan goaltending saves percentage for the season so far: A horrid .874. OUCH!

Only if it's a fair deal while Walt has the say about scheduling.

"I'm not going to get into scheduling with a team that wants to schedule us twice in their building and once in our building," Kyle said.

"I'm not going to put ourselves in a position where we are chasing a rabbit two out of every three years. I'll do 50-50. I'll do it in a fair world, but I'm not going to put us in those positions."

I just got back to MQT... What a weekend....

I SHOULD have video of the hit on Reed.... It happened right across from me and I was looking directly at it, so my Contour should have got it on video.... I'll pull it up later and let everyone judge for themselves... Not a cool or smart move in the least, IMO....

I've seen the video. Looked at it slo-mo big screen and its a pretty vicious shot.

I am interested in seeing the video too.

Also, has their been a ruling on any possible suspension?

I don't have any editing software right now, so I'm gonna have to upload the whole 3rd period... No idea how long it'll take to upload a 3.5 gig video, so we'll see... I'll post it when it's good to go... This could be a long night.... At least it'll give the U of M fans a look at their comeback

Re: Michigan at NMU: Yet Another Reason to Hate Wal-Mart....

Not yet, but I'm sure there will be unless the CCHA has favoritism for Michigan......

On the coaches roundtable show that just finished Mr. Danis reported there will be no additional suspension for Trouba. I suspect the fact Seckel played Saturday played a factor in their decision.

If you're using windows, try movie maker. For just publishing one clip it should work fine.

I figured as much. Once I heard Seckel was in the lineup for Saturday, I knew Trouba wasn't getting an additional penalty.

Frustrating? Yes. But I'm glad that Seckel wasn't seriously injured. Do I wish that Walt would have held Seckel out? ... well, Seckel did seem to be the spark the team needed Saturday.

Re: Michigan at NMU: Yet Another Reason to Hate Wal-Mart....

I believe its a .MOV file and Movie Maker does not support that.

This is the problem... I also have no clue about any of this as I just acquired the camera... Maybe I can just load it directly onto YouTube or something?
