Miami vs B.C. Frozen Four Semifinal: Gotta happen sometime, right?

Re: Miami vs B.C. Frozen Four Semifinal: Gotta happen sometime, right?

BC was up, 3-0 on UNH in the second-to-last game of the season. UNH roared back and tied it at 3. That allowed UNH to eke out a 1-point margin in the final standings. BC ought to recall that memory; I'm sure York is in the dressing room doing just that.

Which would you rather be: HEA Regular Season Champs or Hockey East Champions? ;) :o

Congrats to Miami for a well fought and physical game, a great season, and best of luck to your seniors.

Congratulations to BC!!! Good luck tomorrow night!

Re: Miami vs B.C. Frozen Four Semifinal: Gotta happen sometime, right?

Wow, BC was WAY too fast and WAY WAY too skilled for the RedHawks. Eagles are on a roll offensively, and certainly have tightened up the defense from the Maine and Yale games.
Muse is 7-0 in NCAA's. Could he be approaching a record for most career wins in the tournament?

ps Anyone else think that Enrico Blasi and Rowan Atkinson (Mr. Bean) were separated at birth?

Re: Miami vs B.C. Frozen Four Semifinal: Gotta happen sometime, right?

It is not like BC took the conference by storm. Many teams trailed BC by the end of the regular season by mere points. They also barely won the Hockey East tourny. If they were the only good team wouldn't they have dominated the regular season and won the regular season title as well.

QUOTE=Federal League;4742135]I don't know about that. Myself and many others have been saying for a while that BC was the only HE team that had a chance of doing anything in the NCAAs. One great team doesn't mean the whole conference was great. I'd still say that it was a down year for HE.[/QUOTE]

LOL. yes.

People should know by now that BC rarely "takes the conference by storm" during the regular season. They just don't do it. The eyeball test was clear that BC was Hockey East's only chance and winning this thing.

Was Miami the CHA's only chance?

LOL. yes.

congrats to BC on the win. They established there style and pulled through. Much closer game than 7-1. Miami mailed it in at 4-1 which is ashame. Great atmosphere in ford field. Good luck to BC in the finals, hope we meet again next year!

Re: Miami vs B.C. Frozen Four Semifinal: Gotta happen sometime, right?

I still find it hard to believe that Miami was the #1 team in the nation...look at their losses mid to late season and look at this game. Sorry, no way Miami should have been ranked #1.

I always thought that it was odd they remained #1 after poor showings but just reflected on the way they manhandled Michigan early in the season. Of course I am referring to a very dark period of Michigan Hockey though. Michigan dominated Miami in the CCHA Semi-finals and actually out-played Miami in the NCAA Tournament.

I will say that BC completely out-classed Miami yesterday in all facets of the game but that was not the Miami I know. Miami is fallable yes, but they are better than what they displayed against BC yesterday.

I don't know why anyone pays attention to any poll in any college sport not called BCS football. You didn't think Miami was deserving of a #1 ranking? Well, it worked itself out. I don't know any college hockey fans who pay any real attention to polls at all. Mathematical rankings, conference standings and the like? Sure. Polls? No.

Re: Miami vs B.C. Frozen Four Semifinal: Gotta happen sometime, right?

I expect Miami to come out guns-a-blazin', trying to set tempo and being physical and trying to set the tone of the game. If BC can weather this storm (???), I like the Eagles chances in the 2nd putting up some goals. It seems that most teams, outside of Yale (who arguably was faster and quicker than BC, something I'm not accustomed to seeing) get burned out a little by the 2nd and this usually creates some good scoring opportunities for the Eagles.

I'm looking for 1st period to have Miami score at least once
2nd period Eagles score at least once, maybe more
Third period to have the game tied w/about 10 mins to go.

Should be a great one!

Well I thought that too but we were all as wrong as Barry "Greasey Mullet" Melrose!! Miami came out blazin' with water guns against BCs AK-47s! :p

I don't know about that. Myself and many others have been saying for a while that BC was the only HE team that had a chance of doing anything in the NCAAs. One great team doesn't mean the whole conference was great. I'd still say that it was a down year for HE.

You beat Wisco 5-0 but it took double OT to beat Maine in the HE final, you went 2-2 versus UVM this season who lost to Wisco 3-2 after 3 players were injured during the game with no majors called for hits from behind and elbos to the head and some bad linesman calls to go along with it, UNH came back to tie you to win HE. This is not looking up what UML and even PC or others did against BC in HE this year.

FL is not a BC guy. Down the stretch, it was clear that BC was Hockey East's only true national title contender.

Yeah this is dumb. Anyone who's watched BC over the last few years knows that what they do before mid-March is almost irrelevant. They do what it takes from then on, click, flip the switch, whatever you want to call it. The national championship is nice for Hockey East, but it doesn't mean the conference was better depth-wise this year; it wasn't.
