Miami University at St. Cloud State

Re: Miami University at St. Cloud State

I would be afraid to go into the corners with the twin towers Miami has in Weber and Hartman. lol

Good assesment though, thanks for the take. Have never thought Miami clutched and grabbed excessively, maybe they did last night but normally they just play really physical. Which at times could be interpreted in different ways.

I thought we pretty much played our normal game last night, with SCSU matching our physicality the whole time. Made for an entertaining game.

Oh and 5 minute/game misconduct contact to the head...please be gone next season. Thank you!

Re: Miami University at St. Cloud State

Not going to happen.

One can dream. With Shegos seemingly averaging three contact to the heads a game last season I can only imagine what this is going to turn into if he doesn't change some of those to something else.

Yeah...we've had a couple problems with contact to the head as well. ;)

Miami outplayed us. Plain and simple. You guys have a great team. Your forecheck is relentless and your PK was impressive. Easily the best goalie tandem in college hockey. A lot of things for you to be excited about. Good luck the rest of the season. We'll see you guys in Florida.

Why would you want a penlaty that has the players best safty in mind to go away? Its a great rule and was overdue to be enforced, guys were taking too many runs at players heads.

Miami was holding all over in the defensive zone. Everytime a Hsuky player went in the corner it was a bear hug. I didn't see much of that friday night, but then again SCSU didn't put up much of a fight the last half of that game. However, like I said I don't blame Miami for doing it since Sheppard is to much of a clown to call to much on any given night. Once he hits his quota the whistle is put away for the night.

I re-watched the game and think you are being a little over the top in regards to "holding all over the defensive zone" or " everytime a husky player went into the corner it was a bear hug". Miami plays extremely physical and an in your face type of pressure defense. Most teams struggle with it, but for the most part they don't do too many illegal things in regards to the rule. They were however all over SCSU on saturday, but that seemed to be their game plan and it worked. But sheppard gets an unfair rap, he is actually a pretty solid official.

Watch a NHL game where they actually have good officials then watch the tape over again. It is night and day between what the NHL allows and what the WCHA officials allow. Again, don't get me wrong it's not like SCSU didn't so some of it as well and Miami is a great team. College hockey claims they are going to start calling this stuff, but at least in the WCHA they don't. The game would be better for all of us if they called it right. Miami is a great team and still would be even if they called the game the right way.

Didn't get to see or even listen to either game, so I can't speak for this series, but he's been a clown and we've had to deal with him for years. You wanna say he was ok/solid this weekend... my Husky brethren don't agree, but I can't just take their side without seeing it, so ok, maybe that was the case. But no, he's been brutal for a while.
