3-2 final in St. Peter. Superior put a lot of pressure on the Gusties in the 3rd, especially late, but Gustavus held them off to get the W.

Well Superior won all but the first 5 minutes :) :)

Looks like Gusties came out firing on all cylinders and it took the Jackets a little while to get going....too bad....we'll get em when they head up north :)

I know! I can't tell whether teams are having a down year, an up year, or if everything is evening out. I guess time will tell as more games are played and teams gel.

Thank you for posting this!!! I am the one organizing this, and even if you're not a Gustie fan I'm 150% sure you're all hockey fans. So PLEASE come support a MIAC player, a hockey player, who is going through a hard time. If you're a Bethel parent/fan come support your team and a fellow player. She and her family can use all the support they can get!!

MIAC kick's off Conference play this weekend - here are my predictions:

Bethel / Gustavus - GAC 3 points
St. Kates / Augusburg - St. Kates 3 points
SMU / Hamline - Split
Cord @ Olaf - Split
St. Thomas / St. Bens - UST sweeps (I know they played last night and UST won, but I would have predicted a sweep beforehand)

Nice sweep by the Cobbers over St. Olaf. Looking forward to going to their games next season when my daughter is playing for them.

What happened to Jenny Saxon from UST? Hasn't played in the first three games of the new year? Injury, transfer or ineligible are a possibility. Healthy scratch is doubtful. UST also got a player from UWRF at break. Anyone know of other throughout the league?

With three weeks to go, things are sorting out in the MIAC. GAC is running away with the league (there is order in the world of MIAC Womens hockey). UST, Concordia, and Bethel will fight out for seeds 2,3, and 4. The Oles and ST Kates will battle to get that last playoff spot. Hamline, Augsburg, St Marys and St Bens continue to battle to stay away from the 10th spot in the standings.

This weekend:

St Olaf can get a leg up on St Kates by taking two from CSB and while the Wildcats face the Tommies in an important set. Bethel plays Augsburg and Concordia plays Hamline. Without any major upsets, this weekend should go a long way in sorting out the top 5. St Marys takes on the Gusties. Good to luck to all teams.

Last weekend things played out as expected. Looks like it will come down to the St Olaf--St Kate's set the last weekend to get that final spot. Weekend of Feb 15/16: All series will be 2-0 sweeps for the favorites. Gustavus over St Olaf. Bethel over St Bens. Concordia over St Mary's.
St Thomas over Augsburg. Hamline could steal a point or two from St Kate's and knock them out.
