Meth, I Hear You Callin': The Final Season of Breaking Bad

Re: Meth, I Hear You Callin': The Final Season of Breaking Bad

I just got a warning on TWOP for having the temerity to start a thread asking people to list the fate of each character, as we have done. What a joke of a site.

Re: Meth, I Hear You Callin': The Final Season of Breaking Bad

Background: I just watched all episodes of "Lost" this summer on my Kindle Fire using my Amazon Prime account. I have called this summer my "Lost Summer."

I watched the pilot of Breaking Bad earlier this week and about 25 minutes of the 2nd episode last night on netflix. I have not seen any of the show before, nor have I read much in this thread.

Should I continue watching the show? (You should know that I do have a natural interest in the subject matter because I am one or more of the following: teacher, cook, chemist, DEA agent.)

After just the pilot you should know that you want to keep watching the show.

Yup. It's one of those, "Well...this could be okay. Let's see where the next ep takes us. Ok, that ep was decent. One more. Ok one more. One more. One more season, see if it continues to be good....HOLY CRAP ALL THE EPISODES NOW NOW NOW!" ;)

Re: Meth, I Hear You Callin': The Final Season of Breaking Bad

I'm catching up on Season 2, right after Tuco got shot by Hank. Season 2 goes much faster than Season 1.

Re: Meth, I Hear You Callin': The Final Season of Breaking Bad

The marathon has started on AMC. They will be airing all 61 episodes in order leading up to the finale on Sunday night. Episode 3 is about to start.

Re: Meth, I Hear You Callin': The Final Season of Breaking Bad

Huh. Season 1 Ep 5...Junior says to Dad:

Why don't you just die already?!

(although in a VERY different context)

Re: Meth, I Hear You Callin': The Final Season of Breaking Bad

According to the Guardian there were multiple endings shot and very few people know which version will air on Sunday. Even the actors and most executives at Sony are in the dark. The story doesn't say, but the multiple endings may end up on the DVD.

Re: Meth, I Hear You Callin': The Final Season of Breaking Bad

I actually hope that's not true.

Unless those other endings are jokes, that feels really non-committal.

That probably happens more than you think with super-hit shows and movies. It's more to prevent "sources say" leaks and such than anything.

Which part? The multiple endings thing is to prevent leaks and I don't really have a problem with it.

Them coming out on DVD would be mildly disappointing, unless they are jokes as you say. I expect the still shot that was released of Aaron, Anna and Bryan all in bed together was probably from one of those "alternate endings" which makes me think some of them are gag endings.

What bugs me more is the display of snow on the ground in New Hampshire all summer long. That was a major misstep by the writers.

So I've been told the snow in July thing is irrelevant because "this Vince Gilligan's world" so whatever he wants to do is OK. Thus, I have changed my prediction for the last episode.

Walt gets beamed aboard the Enterprise and Beverly cures his cancer with 23rd century medicine. Then he gets beamed back to New Hampshire and begins his trek back to New Mexico. On the way he stops in NYC and goes to work for Don Draper as a Madison Avenue ad man. While there, Detectives Holder and Linden begin investigating Hank's murder but conclude a crooked cop named Geddes killed him. The show ends with Walt heading west to work on the intercontinental railroad, where he runs into Doc Durant and a guy who looks suspiciously like Saul Goodman.

Re: Meth, I Hear You Callin': The Final Season of Breaking Bad

I believe now the decks are clear for the final shootout.

Re: Meth, I Hear You Callin': The Final Season of Breaking Bad

Well, I didn't expect that.
It'll bug me forever that they didn't check the trunk when dealing with someone who has used bombs before, or might have been smuggling someone in for an ambush.

Re: Meth, I Hear You Callin': The Final Season of Breaking Bad

While I agree with Foxton to a point, the finale was very well done...

Re: Meth, I Hear You Callin': The Final Season of Breaking Bad

poor Huell. stuck in that house

Dillo/MNS/I wanted that as a final shot. :D

I revised my theory in the hour before the ep, and called the Gray Matter thing. Dillo called the Badger angle, and MNS called the gun setup from a MILE away.

Amazing ep. Amazing series.

Detail: Loved the blue/red hue in Elliott's/Gretchen's house, before they know Walt is there.
