Re: Meth, I Hear You Callin': The Final Season of Breaking Bad

I thought I saw Gomez hit as well, gutshot. I'm guessing that neither Hank nor Gomez survive. The phonecall with Marie was simply gutwrenching...Hank isn't coming home.

I think that the Nazis end up taking Walt and Jesse, Walt gets away from them, most likely by offering up Jesse as the cook. Telling them that Jesse can cook the blue just as well as Walt himself can. Walt then flees, and at this point, I think he leaves his family where they are*, only to come back and rescue Jesse. Afterall, throughout the entire series, Walt always comes back for Jesse.

*Once Hank is dead, and Walt is fleeing, Marie and Skyler will reconcile. Skyler will tell Marie some BS about Walt forcing her to do it, by threat, or something like that. Marie will believe her. Walt Jr will not know the truth, because he will be told something like "Your father was with your uncle Hank when Hank was attacked, and there was no trace of Walt after that, he was taken by the people that attacked Hank" So Skyler can still get around the issue of telling her kids what a monster their father turned into

As soon as Walt gave the GPS coordinates to the Aryans, I think everyone expected something bad to happen -- I kept waiting for Hank's head to explode while he was on the phone with Marie. Its like they tried really hard to tell us "Hank is going to die". Are they really going to do it, or is it a trick?

I think Gomez is dead, and it is likely that Hank is dead -- but I won't rule out some kind of plot twist. Why try so hard to beat us over the head with the "hank is dead" angle only to cut to credits before it happens?

Re: Meth, I Hear You Callin': The Final Season of Breaking Bad

I was actually thinking/hoping that it wasn't going to be the Aryans that came to "save" Walt. I knew someone had to show up, it was obvious something was going to happen, and we knew that Walt gets away from the DEA at some point.

My first thought was, how could Skyler track Walt....could she have gotten a GPS tracker, ala Hank? Then did she follow Walt after he ran out of the Car Wash? I was half expecting Hank and Gomez to get smoke by Skyler's car, like Walt ran over the dealers several seasons earlier. As it is, I was wrong. :p

Re: Meth, I Hear You Callin': The Final Season of Breaking Bad

I think Gomez is dead. Like others I'm pretty sure I saw that he was hit. I think Hank gets wounded and he and Jesse are kidnapped by the Aryans and Jesse is made to cook, while Walt gets away. I then think Walt comes back to try and save Jesse and Hank, hence the heavy machine gun in the trunk at the diner...

One thing to keep in mind is the passage of time -- he ha a full head of hair in the flash forward. He doesn't come back a few days later. It's more like months later. How long would the neo nazis keep a DEA agent alive? I think if Hank doesn't escape during this firefight he is a dead man.

We also know the nazis are sloppy (blood on shoe, Todd's loose lips). What is the likelihood they kill one or more DEA agents and sell blue meth and don't attract attention?

I wish I could just watch the rest of the episodes on Netflix tonight.

Re: Meth, I Hear You Callin': The Final Season of Breaking Bad

Oh, and what about Walt's confessions over the phone on the way to the desert?

Re: Meth, I Hear You Callin': The Final Season of Breaking Bad

You've got to think that they recorded that, right?

Even if they do have it recorded, who is going to turn that over to the authorities? Or the video of Jesse's confession? If Hank and Gomez are both dead, or otherwise indisposed, that leaves Marie as the only person who knows Walt = Heisenberg and all she has are wild accusations against Mr. Chips who runs a car wash and is dying of cancer.

Re: Meth, I Hear You Callin': The Final Season of Breaking Bad

Dumb question:

What was with "Sherry" playing in the background during the intro, on the radio? I have a feeling it was put there for a purpose (and Todd's ringtone was "Blinded Me With Science"). Hinting at puppy love of Todd towards Lydia? Or, upon the rewatch (which I'm doing now), stressing to the viewer that the puppy love is indeed there?

Re: Meth, I Hear You Callin': The Final Season of Breaking Bad

I was thinking they used a Steve perry song as homage to the sopranos finale - as this episode ended abruptly mid scene just like the sopranos did playing a perry song

Re: Meth, I Hear You Callin': The Final Season of Breaking Bad

What if Jesse dies?

Adding to that, what if Jesse dies, and Hank/Gomez somehow take out the Nazis? H/G may get injured, allowing Walt to escape......

Todd has a serious crush on Lydia and she is using that to manipulate him. At least Todd doesn't ogle her the way Uncle Jack's friend does. If I were Lydia, I'd bring some muscle to the next meeting.

So it was re-inforcement of that issue.

And you noticed that leer, too, huh? I was thinking, Lydia goan git raped.

If you're a big fan of Lydia/Todd...there is a scene that was shot for episode 6 or 7 of the two of them eating dinner together in a restaurant.

News from the Saul Goodman front

"Breaking Bad" may soon be coming to an end, but Saul Goodman is staying put at AMC.

The network is moving forward with a spin-off called "Better Call Saul," centered on the shady lawyer character played by Bob Odenkirk.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, AMC reached a licensing agreement with Sony Pictures Television for the drama's next iteration "after several weeks of negotiations."

This news doesn't confirm anything about Goodman's fate in the remaining "Breaking Bad" episodes -- the spin-off will be a prequel.
