Meth, I Hear You Callin': The Final Season of Breaking Bad

Re: Meth, I Hear You Callin': The Final Season of Breaking Bad

What happens to stop Jesse's rampage at Walt's house? The episode ends mid-rampage, but obviously something happens, because the house doesn't burn down, and the only reason to pour gas all over is to light the place up. Does Walt take care of Jesse, since he did go get the revolver???

Does Hank now go into CYA mode, and try to cover for Walt, when the **** really starts hitting the fan? Or does he go down with the ship?

Well, when Jesse arrives at the house, he isn't exactly quiet about it. Maybe Carol (the neighbor) was home and called 911? Jesse leaves the scene before authorities get there, but after the house is on fire. Fire is put out, house still stands.

MORE likely, is Jesse snaps back to reality before he lights the match. "Heisenberg" was spray painted, and I don't think Saul has that in his Caddy. Jesse would have to get it from the garage or something, use it, then flee to start hunting Walt down.

He'll either decide setting Walt's house on fire isn't a fitting revenge, or might be interrupted by Hank who convinces him to go the legal route.

Snitches are bitches, yo.

I can't see Jesse doing that.

I don't mean Jesse turning, but trying to get Walt on tape by meeting with him one last time and hoping Walt confesses. Jesse is about the only person Walt would talk to about everything they've done. Walt could easily spill the beans about everything, including that his "confession" DVD is a fake to frame Hank.

Could be.

Going off of the earlier tinfoil theory of Skylar's Maiden Name for Walt's Fake ID...that's a rookie mistake, so I don't think Walt calls the fixer. He creates the fake persona on his own. This is due to Jesse ready to go full-blown Section 8 on Walt, and making Walt run NOW. Just to escape, not necessarily out of fear. Walt can outsmart Jesse, this has been proven. Sometimes, though...too many things to try and defend against, and it's easier to run.

I don't think you're far off here. At some point soon, Walt is just going to bug out and flee for his own safety.

What if Skylar gets killed, maybe by Jesse, Jr and Holly ends up going to Hank and Marie due to this. And Walt is forced to run. Walt gets away, regroups, and decides he wants to go back and be king again.

Re: Meth, I Hear You Callin': The Final Season of Breaking Bad

Was I wrong in remembering there being some minor fire damage to the living room when Walt came back for the ricin?

I was trying to think back to that too...I am thinking it looked like the carpet was torn out, but I don't know if it was obvious enough that I could say for sure it was fire damage. Regardless, with that much gasoline, you'd end up with quite a bit more damage than we saw, I'd have to think. I'm guessing that something or someone has to stop Jesse before he lights a match. Maybe Jr comes home?

I've read a few reviews of the episode last night, and the consensus seems to be that everyone is in awe. There are comments like "TV at its finest", "Something we have never seen before", "executed perfectly"...and I'd have to agree. I have never seen anything like this before. Never have I sat and watched a TV show, and specifically that episode, so closely, that I had to rewind during the episode and rewatch snippets again immediately. I don't know how that episode doesn't instantaneously lock up Emmys for the show, Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul. Incredible.

Spoiler
"Sunday Morning" on CBS did interviews with several cast members and a behind-the-scenes look at a shot that was being filmed. We don't know what episode it is but we see Walt in a grungy old pickup truck with a barrel (the money) in the back and he is standing in the driveway telling Junior and Skyler to pack up. Odds are that is episode 6.

I doubt Walt wants to be the kingpin again. His secret is out and whatever that gun is for seems pretty final. The ricin will either be for Lydia or himself. He could take it, go on his suicide mission knowing that he's a dead man anyway. It also guarantees that if he is caught/arrested he'll die soon anyway.

I think this is one of the most common theories, and I agree, it is probably most likely. But at the same time, part of me is thinking that the creators of this show aren't going to end this in a very predictable way.

Cue Maize to come in and try to prove once again how he is so much better than the rest of us because he didn't really like the episode...

There actually are a fair number of people who thought the plot moved way too fast. They don't get the whole ciggaricin storyline or how Jesse could have put it together so fast. They wanted flashbacks or more dialogue in Saul's office or Jesse to find out in some other way. No. This was great writing. Vince et al have tremendous respect for their audience and know that the vast majority of us don't need our hands held to make the jump from Point A to Point E without having to see (or be reminded of) Points B, C and D. Screen time is way too valuable to waste on those things. I remember the same thing with The Walking Dead last season. Maybe other shows have audiences that need it spelled out for them, or maybe the writers don't think their audiences are that smart. Some shows expect more of their audience and I for one think it's great.

I think this is an excellent point, and it is one of the reasons this show is so good.

Incredible episode. Not too much action until the end but the dialouge was able to carry it.

My only fear is that they may have too much story left. There's about five episodes left and they still have about five months left until Walt is back at Denny's.

All we need is a montage and a catchy tune...

Re: Meth, I Hear You Callin': The Final Season of Breaking Bad

After mistakenly seeing a promo for BB, when Walt says "I'm in no danger. I AM the danger!", well, he's gonna fall, and fall hard. I'm guessing he dies (specifically gets killed) since that was the whole reason he started this venture in the first place.

What would be awesome is if Hank has to be the one to do it, DEA standoff style. But I'd guess Jesse will end up doing it. Maybe even a murder-suicide.

Edit: forgot to say this, but this thread title is all kinds of awesome.

Browsing back.....huh.

Re-watched season opening scene. Definitely not burnt up. Just thrashed. Guessing Jesse gets stopped, house starts to get cleaned up. Then things really go bad all at once.
