4 3rd period goals, nice to see the team turn it on when needed. Bentley actually had a nice student contingent there, they were handing out free winter hats.

Man, that net they have up above the entire length of the glass is brutal, I'd rather take my chances with flying pucks.

I thought the first period last night was decent, the second a train wreck and third was great. Whatever was said in the locker room during the second intermission definitely worked.

It was interesting because he mentions how they needed to stop hanging their heads and getting anxious that "we are only tied with an Atlantic team." I think it can be easy to fall into that sort of thinking but in reality, Bentley is a good squad, they're going to beat a lot of good teams and already have

Predictions for Canisius? Seems like they have a nice facility up there. MC should beat them, but always tough to get Ws on the road.

TCOB at the JAR. What a fun place to watch a game (singular). As long as D1 teams are playing in rinks like that, every D1 program should be forced to play at least 1 game per season in one of these high school rinks. But I can't imagine being a season ticket holder there though, unless I still lived on Pleasant Street. Hope the affluent alumni step up and that new rink gets built on campus.

Sightlines pretty bad, the netting above the glass seemed unnecessary (and what if someone has a hat trick?). But fun to be right on top of the action. The Bentley kids were just there for the free hat I think, they seemed to all jet in the 2nd intermission (right after they tied it up no less). Awesome to see a free-flowing game without the World Police blowing the whistle every minute. Good Merrimack turnout too!

That sounds about right. MC crowd won't be there for support, but these Canisius guys are right behind Bentley in the PWR and the lines are clicking right now. They aren't going to drive 16 hours to lose.

I'm sure some Watertown hockey mom got drilled by a puck while she was hashtagging an instagram post of her pee-wee kid, and up went the nets.

To their credit, cell reception is infinitely better at the JAR than the Lawler.

Sorry, but this smacks a bit of the pot calling the kettle black, as most D1 teams would say the same thing about Lawler!

Wow, thread is absolutely exploding with us (we?) Merrimack posters! Now if REDMAN shows up, I'll be really impressed.

Team is playing really well. As Yuppie Scum pointed out, they CAN actually go an entire game without a parade to the penalty box. PK has been great, but PP has been awful!

Time for LeBlanc to step up. Too many penalties (6) and only 1 point through 7 game. I envisioned this kid as a poor man's power forward, and it just hasn't happened yet. Is he still recovering from his leg injury or what is going on?

Great 3rd period Wednesday night. Agree about the netting. Forgot my glasses at home and that netting made things much worse.

Judging by the highlight reel, the second Canisius goal was just a terribly played puck by Delia, hopefully he can take a lesson learned from that one.

Interesting that the Seney line got changed up. Good to see Foget and Spaxman on the score sheet tonight.

Do we have any goons we can dress for that? You know it'll be 5 and a game if someone breaths on him, the way games are called in HEA. So it's really best they stay composed.

We have a challenging weekend ahead here and I fear the Friday game in particular is a trap.

Nice of HE to once again set UNH up with a one-game weekend, while Merrimack plays the night before!! Kudos to Bertagna as the Wildcats can definitely use the help!
 
Shame they scheduled the Christmas gala on the same night we are hosting the defending national champs. You gotta figure a lot of the big donors are gonna be at the Lawler for that one.

My gala invite had lipstick on it. Either someone over in Austin Hall likes me or my invitation was put in the wrong envelope and was meant for someone else. :eek:

Seems like U Mass Amherst is looking for a track meet. They can score, but defending has been an issue. Hopefully Merrimack can continue to clog up the neutral zone and continue their aggressive, hitting game.

4 League points are there for the taking. UMass will bring it offensively, but are really susceptible on defense (talk about trick-or-treat goaltending). They're scoring 4 a game, and giving up 4 a game. MC's road record in league play has been woeful in recent seasons, but I think they grab the win here.

I don't think UNH can take both games at Lawler. 3-2 MC
