Merrimack College Warriors 2015-2016: Come out and play

Re: Merrimack College Warriors 2015-2016: Come out and play

Totally agree with you guys that the power play has been terrible and it really has been all year. They can talk about shots and all that stuff but I don't care, if it's not going in. They are really young and I thought like you did, that they were middle of the pack. Once these younger guys are our older guys it should be a lot better. At least I hope so.

Sophomore slumps like Tibbet and Hennig are not as much a concern to me as some of our juniors who have flat out STUNK. Chris LeBlanc, that guy is drafted? What a huge disappointment. In the games I have seen I even think Lashyn has taken a step back and gets beat a lot. Good to see guys like Bahe and Hussar step up their senior year but I think if were were even getting a hint of production out of our juniors we would be ok. Even Hampus is so hot or cold. Some nights he looks great other nights he looks like a d3 player who is lazy and unwilling to go to the net.

and then there is this http://www.themackreport.com/news/goaltender-logan-halladay-commits-to-merrimack/

I wonder if they are freaking out about how vogler looked when deals was hurt? this kid was a minny recruit through, which makes even another wrinkle in there.
Maybe this kid could enroll before next weekend? 10 losses in a row. No offense and no goaltending is not a winning combination. Hope they beat AZ State (who'll be playing their 3rd game in 3 nights) or they have the potential to not win another game this season (right now, only the AZ State game and maybe UConn at home look like possible wins).

I dont think its time to hit the panic button in regards to goaltending. Delia is not the reason they lost that game, in fact he stopped the bleeding on a couple PK's. Don't forget he is only a sophomore so he could provide a veteran leadership role down the line. Agree though that if Vogler doesn't work out, we will need some depth, but I think it's still early.

I agree, it's not Delia. I think it's more that they are concerned about what is going to happen after Delia because Vogler was not impressive.

Finally, the long national nightmare is over! Did we look that good or did they play like a first year DI program that's playing their third game back to back?

Let's hope they can keep the momentum going against Uconn.

Re: Merrimack College Warriors 2015-2016: Come out and play

Any news if Nichols plays? I like our chances if he does not. If he does I think he can steal the game for UConn as it is something we have seen before.

Re: Merrimack College Warriors 2015-2016: Come out and play

UConn Game:

Glass 1/2 Full: Outshot the Huskies 45-23 and controlled significant portions of the game. Only took 2 penalties and killed them both. Thought both Petti (hey, Toot, it is "Petti", not Pettit which you kept saying nearly the entire game! learn the player's names!) and LeBlanc played really well.

Glass 1/2 Empty: Desperately needed a win!! A tie isn't even treading water as there is now 1 less game to catch a team right in front of you in the standings. Thought the 1st goal allowed was pretty soft. Why are you taking shots from the point when you have plenty of time and space, and there is no one in front?? Toot wondered about that.

6 games left, can't see them beating BC, 2 at Alfond will be tough but not impossible, and finish up with 2 @ Lawler against the Catamounts.

Home ice looking pretty implausible now. Let's hope to get out of the Chestnut Hill without getting too injured, and maybe they can charge hard into the playoffs and upset someone in the first round.

Re: Merrimack College Warriors 2015-2016: Come out and play

I wouldn't say it is implausible, we are only two points out, but I agree that it is difficult. Really I do not expect them to win this weekend so that makes they need to win I think at least two agains tMaine and UVM and probably three. Can they split against UVM and sweep Maine or vice versa? Or even two wins and two ties? I don't really know. I think it is an outside chance but they are at least alive where if they lost on Saturday I think they are out completely.

Well Miles Wood was suspended for a game so that should help with the "not getting too injured" aspect

dont you think BC should be the team that should be worried about getting out of a set with MC with no injuries rather than the other way around? just sayin

Give it a rest. Seriously. That Merrihack crap ended with Serino, yet you BC bozos still don't shut up about it. I can think of more injuries MC players suffered at the hands of BC players than the other way around. Andrew Alberts crushing Marco Rosa's skull, Eaves (won't even bring that up), Nate Gerbe getting suspended for butt-ending everybody in sight one weekend. BC has 15.25 PIM per game and Merrimack has 11.25. But keep up the "typical Merrihack, gooning it up" narrative if it makes you feel better about yourself.

Re: Merrimack College Warriors 2015-2016: Come out and play

No worries, when Wood leaves, BC won't be anywhere near the top :)
