Re: Merrimack College 2010-2011: taking H.E. one chair-back seat at a time

Two words, Matt Ryan. Their offense has been nearly stagnant since he left. How does a program go from a first round draft pick at QB to a minor-league baseball player turned football who has close to zero football decision making knowledge?

I have a feeling the program was just on its head after the TOB and Jag scandals and recruitment suffered big time. I hope Spaz can turn it around he's a stand-up guy, but I don't know if he belongs behind the reins of a football program that is constantly on the upper-end of mediocrity, they need someone who can give them that last shove into the upper-elite. It's not far away.

You answered your own question. Having three coaches in that amount of time will obviously hurt recruiting. By all accounts, Spaz has stabilized the recruiting and is actually getting some pretty good results. Spaz won't be there in 10 years, but I think he's the perfect guy for a few years...

With some of the teams that we've played so far...two games with BU, two with BC...the fact that we're sitting pretty in 4th place is an awesome sign.

Time to take care of business this week though. Have to earn some respect on two fronts in my mind. One...get some **** wins on the road. Two... prove that we can do what BC just did on Sunday, take advantage of a struggling team.

NU is a gritty team though and they're not in all that bad of shape. These games aren't going to be easy...but they're still games we should win.

Harvard is also HUGE for the pairwise. Need to get the win there tonight.

When did you start watching college hockey? 2009? John Sabo and Freddy Meyer say hello.
Nice to see a post from you. Are you at all conflicted given the MC-BC series results?
Seriously, drop an occasional post in here. You know your stuff and have been known to express an opinion once in a while! Keeps things interesting.

just heard, 3-1 Mack, good job, it was necessary

3-1 over Harvard is a nice win, the Warriors held the Crimson to single digit shot totals each period and outshot them 39-15 on the evening...

Now it's onto Matthews to see if we can vanquish a few demons at the old barn...

It was a little sad to see 4 MC jerseys in the stands and probably about 40 MC fans total at the Bright. (this included parents).
Harvard plays about the most boring trap imaginable
MC had little interest in screening out front
I WISH all of the Bigos haters could have seen him gooning it up in THIS one. (kidding)

Stollery might be as good with the puck as Chay Genoway is.
And Danny Biegos is a lot of fun to watch.
This was the first and possibly last time I will ever see a three time all american skating around at a Harvard Merrimack game.

You do a great job so I hope you don't take this is as an insult, but rather just trying to help you make your gallery's captions even better. Second picture is Mike Marotta, not Cannata.
Sam Marotta?

Thanks. Am ashamed to admit, but I didn't pay much attention and just assumed it was the guy starting that would be out there so much earlier than his teammates. Will fix now.

Any pictures or video of the recent renovations to Lawler Rink/Volpe Center?

Any plans to add an end seating area like this to the opposite end? I remember when Serino was still there they had wanted to make the whole place wrap around (bowl) seating.

Not much room to do it and the towns of NA and Andover are constantly fighting the school on issues such as this regarding the environment and stuff. Serino was just a used cars salesman along with Iarobbino and Santagatti. The new administration is all class. Great and honest people. They are doing their best to make the facility as nice as possible.
