Merrimack at UNH - 01/30/10

Re: Merrimack at UNH - 01/30/10

You mean the glorified hockey tournament? That's really the only thing anyone cares about. Most people here are just ticked off at how much this thing is costing. The north shore mountains where some of the ski events are being held have almost no natural snow, so will need man made snow. I don't know, I guess it's a mix of excitement and can't wait for the whole thing to be over.
Do they have the ability to make snow, or is this an anomaly?

1:08 to go, Braithwaite covers, Cucci hits Burke, draws a crowd. Believe Bowen is in there too. Matching?

Burke & Cucci going. 4 on 4.

Making snow is quite common, and no it's not an anomaly. Having the winter Olympics in Vancouver was a gamble because winters out here are normally quite mild. Whistler where the bulk of the skiing events will be held always has lots of snow. But the north shore mountains are a bit hit and miss. It's an El Nino year too, so we are dryer and warmer than is normal. Last year the mountains here had more snow than they knew what to do with. This year, they are struggling, just the nature of the beast.

Elbow on LeBlanc now. Bad call from the sound of it. He has no idea what he did. 4 on 3 PP for MC now.

Sure. My brother (an avid skier) lives in Salt Lake City, and says the same about the lack of snow and its relation to El Nino.
