Me Too 2021 -- Men Still Suck

While I love my job, it is just that - a job. I tell people I work to support my college hockey habit. I'm a loyal and devoted employee but I totally get they're not loyal or devoted to me no matter what they try to promote.

Could not agree more. Fortunately, I learned this lesson good and hard with my first job, and I have worked for "LynahFan Inc" ever since - I just sell my services to the most attractive bidder, which at different times in my life has been about pay, flexibility, or the nature of the work. Companies have zero loyalty to me; why should I have any to them?

I wish everyone understood this.

They are not your friend. They are using you, full stop.

I was lucky enough to learn it during an internship in undergrad (where, ironically, I would've been willing to work lots more overtime for the money since it was in NYC). I saw people putting in 12 hour days every day plus weekends and thought nope, that ain't for me, I don't care what they're paying.

12 years of government work later and am still confident I made the right call. While i work late when needed, I'd say 85% of the time I put in my 37.5 hours/ week and call it good.

So Melinda getting the paperwork filed so she gets her half (and first in line) before the rest of the claims come in?

The dude is worth like $130 billion. Let's say you cut that in half for the divorce. Even a 4% return on his money annually nets him what, maybe $3 billion before taxes.

The Weinstein and Fox News women were getting $18-20 million per settlement. He could have been banging 150 of them and it won't even dent his income for the year.

I don't think she was too worried about her half.

As a former endurance athlete, I've been watching the sexual assault and abuse complaints pile up against coach Alberto Salazar and the Nike Oregon Project.
