May I have this dance?

Re: May I have this dance?

All of you need to stop slinging sh*t at each other. It's giving me a headache. The game is over. Both teams were at fault to varying degrees for Saturday's mess of a game. BG fans think Miami gooned it up. Miami fans think BG asked for it. There...it's all summed up. The End.

Re: May I have this dance?

First of all...in no way that puck was loose and the whistle did in fact blow before the goalie was hit. Also, this was not the only time during the series where our goalies were hit after the whistle. I recall in the first game with Reichard in net, puck covered, whistle blew, BG players slashing at Reichard multiple times.

Secondly, if you hit our goalie that blatantly you should expect to get jumped by members of the other team. You don't hit the goalie and not expect to have some consequences.
Seeing as how I was standing behind Knapp when the hit occurred and could see the puck the entire time, yes, it was loose. If you watch the video, Grover lost an edge. Watch his left leg. It looked very awkward live.
This holding the players leg so he couldn't get away. Your guy was standing on top of our guy so he couldn't get up. After multiple seconds of your guy straddling ours, our guy finally took it into his own hands to get up grabbing your guys leg and taking him down. Your guy made no action of trying to skate away.
Ah, but why was he not skating away? Because he was being held.....
No you're funny (or in denial) for apparently denying that your team did anything wrong. Were we at the same game?

Do you know why the fight was started? Oh yeah because your players kept taking out our goalie (both nights). You're lucky your players didn't get it any more. You should know that if you actually watch hockey. Anyone who tries to mess with anyone's goalie is going to get punched in the face...regardless the team.

And p.s. Vaive won't do anything that isn't deserved. Vaive is a clean hitter and rarely do you see Vaive do something that isn't deserving. Your players started this entire ordeal.

Who's in denial? Never said BG player's didn't do anything wrong.....

As for the action around the Miami net, how'd Hammond's helmet get knocked off Friday?

Re: May I have this dance?

I guess we are watching different videos. I've watched it multiple times and I don't see anything awkward from Grover. I see him going full speed at the goalie after what you call a supposedly loose puck.

I don't know why your guy wasn't skating away, maybe he felt good that he was actually on top of something for once because we all know BG is far from the top of the CCHA standings or as a matter of fact rarely been on top in any of their games. But in all seriousness. Our guy was laying on the ground, maybe we were holding a bit but with us laying on the ground and you standing above you have all the leverage in the world it wouldn't take too much strength to get away if you really wanted to.

I don't know maybe you should ask your players that would push our players into your goalie. Kind of stupid if you ask me. He was probably trying to think of a stupid cheap way to try and get a penatly called on one of our players. Kinda backfired huh? In fact, one of your players got a penalty for pushing one of OUR players into YOUR goalie.

Sounds to me like not only does BG want to hurt other teams, but want to hurt their team too.

Likely excuse. So he lost an edge, but managed to get his stick in the air to slash knapp across the chest. Seems unlikely.

Does losing an edge account for the rest of the time members of your team took cheap shots on our goalies? Even if you took out one of them, we still have two of the top 10 goalies in the nation right now.

Maybe you shouldn't be thinking about our coach and team being childish...maybe you should think about your team going out there to hurt other teams members to maybe, for one second, make themselves feel a little better than their team has won only 4 games, and we've only LOST 4 games.

You seem to be the voice of reason. I am moving on and I would suggest others move on as well. These posts are going nowhere.

Re: May I have this dance?

It is another fine example of CCHA reffing being incompetent.

"The refs have lost control! The refs have lost control!"
I remember thinking this before a certain Conboy/Tropp incident last season. Hey, look, Hall was officiating that game too.

Oh, and Rico applauding and bowing...funny and immature, but that's what I expect from him. I've never liked him since he felt the need to cuss out opposing fans after his team scored (during the middle of the game. Those were pretty awesome seats, I must admit). Napoleon complex, anyone?

Sucks for a game to get that out of hand.

Re: May I have this dance?

Anyone know how long it usually takes the CCHA to announce additional suspensions... I have a feeling Hershfield (sp?) is going to get miss some more games after that cheap-shot...

My guess is that if it has not been announced by now that no additional suspensions will be handed out. They will probably save additional suspensions for open ice hits that they deem were too emphatic. Cheap shots like Hirschfeld put on Grover after the play while a player is in a vulnerable position, why that would be silly to review and act upon.

I will say this though, that if this play occurs again and somebody is seriously injured, the CCHA can look back at this event and ponder their inaction.
