Mark Osiecki Out at Ohio State

Re: Mark Osiecki Out at Ohio State

He needs to fly back to the USHL where he belongs Coaching.

I have no clue where Coach Oz is going to end up, but I doubt if he is unemployed for long. Everything I have read indicates that he is highly respected in the coaching fraternity.

Re: Mark Osiecki Out at Ohio State

Alabama Huntsville I would be surprised if Oz ends up down south. If he does he would make a big impact. Lots of Minnesota boys would end up in Alabama.

Play hockey some where warm? There are lots of worse things in life.

No sweat off OSU. I think Zach took a step backwards unless his favorite Coach OZ is going to be an Assistant at this College/ Minnesota State. If a player just goes to a College because of a certian Coach and not for the whole package , then it's like 2 steps forward and 1 back.

I think it is some sweat off OSU. We lost our star recruit. We'll survive, I guess. Hopefully Rohlik can bring in players like Zach Stepan in the future.

Now since the Oz left they have lost three recruits. He must have been one heck of a recruiter. You think when McCabe leaves Finlandia for UAH. The Oz could go coach the Finlandia Lions.

Didn't you say "Oz would be top choice" at UAH? You even cited "Geoff, Doug Ross and UAH Alumni?"

John McCabes 17 wins in 3 seasons at Finlandia aren't going to race him up to the top of any lists. And don't try the "he didn't have anything" line. The previous coach (not including the interim) won a league title two years earlier.

But he is a legend in Alabama in Hockey. He coached with Danton Cole the future MSU coach. Then the budget wouldnt be hurt compared to if they got a guy like Oz or Gwoz. I dont know if McCabe even wants to leave Finlandia. But the program needs stablity and who ever is hired should have ties to the program.

Well you may be the first person to refer to McCabe as a "legend." But glad to know he has replaced Oz as your top choice. What makes you think Cole is the future MSU coach? They didn't take him two years ago. Why would they boot TA now?
