Mariucci Classic (Colgate, FSU, Minnesota, RPI) 1/3/14 - 1/4/14

Re: Mariucci Classic (Colgate, FSU, Minnesota, RPI) 1/3/14 - 1/4/14

How many years does it take to make something classic or is it how many random teams do you need to play in order to make something classic?

It's just one year.

Someone will have to give me a complete list of the smileys that have to be used for schools which don't require an ability to read at the 3rd grade level. So it's :) for Minnesota and  for St, Clooud. Any others? :p
UAA and Michigan Tech will inevitably have ponies. Just go with it.

Unless 'Gate does a 180, you will see them in the consolation game (if there is one). After twin humiliating defeats to UMASS over the weekend - on our home ice - things are looking pretty sad in Raider-land.

Of course. And I'm not sure what the true cutoff would be, but I'd call 20+ years as being easily more than enough to qualify anyway.

And it has been Classic for the whole time! Sometimes it was a Dodge Classic, but it was always Classic!

Re: Mariucci Classic (Colgate, FSU, Minnesota, RPI) 1/3/14 - 1/4/14

It's named for John Mariucci. That's enough to make anything a classic.

Wasn't he the Minnesota coach in 1954 when Uncle Ned outcoached him with the empty air canisters? :D

Uncle Ned would try anything at anytime on anyone to win. Expect RPI to do what they have always done-play to the level of the competition. They will make the game interesting at least for the first 20-30 minutes whoever they play. Just waiting so long for the next game is frustrating. T-17 and counting.:)

If RPI happens to play Minnesota, I expect biased reffing, which always happens when we actually have a shot vs. B1G teams.

Sorry. A team that will not be named has that trademarked in the midwest. ;)

Sad to see that they still don't teach proper punctuation and capitalization at SCCC. :p

What does SCCC stand for? Schenectady City Community College? JC Who wasted the most money on Mega Millions yesterday? Are California and Georgia going to have some new hockey donors?
