Mar. 4 Scores: ECAC East Semis- Cadets try to tame Huskies, Spartans battle the Beave

Re: Mar. 4 Scores: ECAC East Semis- Cadets try to tame Huskies, Spartans battle the B

but I fear the overly physical way Castleton plays (dare I say "dirty")

Castleton attempting to play overly physical is what allowed babson to control the early part of the game. How many times did you see a Spartan player attempting to slam a babson forward into the boards, having that player avoid the check, and the Spartan player completely out of the play from running himself into the boards? Looked like that was what happened last game against NU too. That play only works if you are as fast as the other team. They weren't early, that's for sure.

Interesting call by Todd playing a walk-on in his 3rd game of the year in a semi-final. Why would he be on the power play; the one that had a shorty scored on it?
But wasn't him that turned the puck over, from replay.

Prez you are right about the no goal, I was standing on the rail right above the goal in front of Adams office as the puck hit the inside of the post followed the line to the other side of the goal and sat on the line for 2 secounds as Casalton players cheered the no goal. Then the goalie saw it and pulled it away from the line and covered it up.Right call by Tisi to confirm with the other ref and goal judge.

Right call by Tisi to confirm with the other ref and goal judge.

...Now there's a combination of words that is rare - Tisi and right call in the same sentence :D

strange, I was standing directly above the goal on the rail and was alone. The puck never crossed the line. A Castleton player not dressed was up there a few feet away and confirmed to me that the puck never crossed the line

Hmm, when I looked up, all I saw was Cadet Crosby. ANd a castleton fan/player, not sure, right above me.

Castleton coach Alex Todd was quoted in the Times Argus that he believed Babson had a high stick goal that counted and we had a goal that didn't count. I was watching down by the Babson goal and the guys around me agreed that it looked like a goal. How about a TV review, if available, in the playoffs like D1 to help decide these matters. When Castleton plays there always seem to be a lot of controversy, it is like they have a lighting rod around. I agree that Castleton player Justin Alonzo is a very agressive but effective player.

No quotes from Norwich coach Mike McShane since Carleton Laird who I thinks works for the Rutland Herand (part of Time Argus) only reported on the Castleton game. Hey wasn't the game being played before 2,000 mostly Central Vermont fans and potential readers of the TA. TA coverage this year of Norwich Sports has been very poor. However there is a great picture of Travis Janke goal. This game was one of the top 5 sporting events in Central Vermont in the last year.

The ECAC official and I both reviewed the so called high stick goal. There definitely was not a high stick involved.

Because with the exception of Norwich, no one is going to pay to have tv at most games. And even at Kreitzberg, the camera angles and shots are up tot he provider, not the ECAC. There is no money to provide game replay. That was a stupid point, almost a dumb as asking the Norwich assistant SID to help recruit players for Middlebury.
Middlebury can recruit just fine on their own.

Hawk, Where did you see this goal from? I was less that about 12 feet from the net with nothing blocking my view. The puck clearly tapped the post and then dropped on to the red line BUT Never completely crossed the line. You do understand that the puck has to fully cross the red line to count, don't you? Yes, Tisi did make the right call.

CSC is crying foul cause they lost??? What a surprise. :). The most surprising thing to come out of the weekend was everybody saying Tisi made the right call!!!! I am joking as IMO one ref that has improved a ton in the last few years is Tisi.

Don't know about this year, because he hadn't made any appearances in Krietzberg until that game. I do no last year, he was the same guy he always has been. I hope what you said is true.

Man, I hate it when I do that, and since you spotted it, it's to late to fix.

If I had a dime for everytime I used must for most and vice-versa, I would be retired too ;)

I beliieve that "no" is shorthand for "know" when texting or using facebook, so why not for the forums?
