Another guy we should keep track of is Peter Reynolds. I don’t think he has committed anywhere yet that I can see. He seems to fit what Maine is looking for. Seems like a great two way left shot center man. He is from Fredericton, NB which is very close to Orono. So shortest commute to ncaa games for his family. Would only have 3 years of eligibility since he played USports one year at UNB.

The coaching staff is light years ahead of us, I would imagine. Soltys’ job is recruiter. He had likely driven all over New England, Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick, and the maritime. I doubt much gets by him. He’s been in scouting virtually his entire career. I do this as a hobby just to see and track which players would be a good fit. On Peter Reynolds though, it seems like he is perfect for Maine since he is a left shot center and plays similarly to Lynden Breen. Plus, like Breen, his family is only few hours drive so easy for them to take in a game. I would imagine Reynolds would like the thought of second life at a better entrance to the pros. He would get a huge amount of scouting exposure making the switch.

Nick Peluso(Brooks(BCHL)) stood out in the playoff games against Sherwood Park this weekend. Peluso had 1 goal and 3 assists in 2 games. Here is a video of his goal… https://x.com/BCHockeyLeague/status/1913768817194647866

He will be at Maine this fall, nice to see him getting some success after he was injured and out of play for quite a while.

Ellis Rickwood just entered the transfer portal from Clarkson. He was their top line center. He is a big right shot at 6’2” and 200 lbs. He lead Clarkson in +/- and was second in points per game at 0.9 ppg after scoring 35 pts on 10 goals and 25 assists. His CHIP rating was very good at 40.7 which was 5th on Clarkson. He was 10th in the country in face offs won at 430 and had a higher winning percentage than Harrison Scott. He was first team all ECAC. I think he would be a perfect addition to help fill the void at center for Maine since Maine graduated 3 centers! Max Scott took one, so there are two more center positions to fill.

I think you can put this in for Max Scott in your empty cell for his playing style: “gritty, tenacious, defensively responsible, 200 ft player, with vision and skill, and great on face offs”. He is very similar to Harrison Scott, like go to the net like Harrison.

It is very nice to see Brock James playing again. Wow, not sure what kind of injury he had but it was a long recovery.
