Re: Maine Recruit Updates: The Search for Spock

Could have, should have, would have.....blah, blah, blah. Give it a rest. Minnie and CC load up on the USHL talent every year. I'm not sure where that has taken them recently.

And, again, the fact that you think a 2nd year USHL player who has ZERO goals is a legitimate Div I threat shows you have absolutely no clue.

More then you do Gilligan

Hold your thought for a year and you will be proven wrong.

In the meantime dont dump on a kid because you dont like my view. FYI, he is a 3rd year player Mr I have no clue.

Re: Maine Recruit Updates: The Search for Spock

This team has surprised most people, the first 11 games people were shaking there heads and wondering what the H#ll.....then the last 6 games have been what people hoped and expected....this team has talent, not elite type talent...but enough talent to make a good run....Nat. Champ. probably most likely NOT...but if they play with the confidence/desire/team defense...they will make other teams plans alot harder....my main concern with this teams progress after the Holiday's is in the crease...still not sold on his focus and game stealing ability,I'm hoping for him to make a statement and take charge along with the team.............their talented and under-dog mentaility should be a key to how far they go....imo.

Re: Maine Recruit Updates: The Search for Spock

Is anyone else just disappointed that this recent flurry of posting isn't connected to another commitment?

and Larose also had a consitent career but was up and down until his senior year.
He was consistent but up and down? He never finished lower than 3rd on the team in scoring in his 4 years and he had 2 50+ point seasons to go along with a 37 and 40 point season. He was consistent and had an impact all 4 years.

Cory Larose was a consistent point getter, but was up and down in the goal department (I think he averaged about 15 goals per season). That's not bad, but I thought he was going to be more of sniper. That said, he was one of my favorite players and, to your point, had an impact all 4 years and is right up there in career points.

Gustafson and Guite are a different story. Marcus struggled for a consistent spot in the lineup and Ben spent a better part of his career in the Walsh dog house. Ben did have a great senior year, though. And, as mentioned, Marcus had the goal that mattered.

YES!!!

What is up with that???

Seriously......I don't ever remember an 18 month recruiting period that has produced exactly 2 commitments, one of which (McNeely) may be de-committing. Does anyone else find that troubling?

How many scholarships are even available though?

This is only his 2nd year in the USHL.

HOKYDAD, please put the bottle down. He was talking about Arnold...not sure whose stats those are. But here are Arnold's

YEAR TEAM GP G A PTS +/- PIM PPG PPA SHG SHA GWG SHOTS SPCT
2009/2010 Waterloo 24 0 13 13 -5 35 0 6 0 1 0 61 .000
2008/2009 Waterloo 52 20 12 32 +5 77 6 8 0 1 5 99 .202
TOTALS 76 20 25 45 +0 112 6 14 0 2 5 160 .125

And that you think a forward with ZERO goals in his 2nd year of the USHL will be an impact player in D1 tells me one thing. You are Mr. Arnold!

If you were talking about Anthoine you would have been right, but you weren't. Nice try on the spin though.

Re: Maine Recruit Updates: The Search for Spock

I just added some quotes from Darcy's coach to the story.

Killip seems to be having a decent season, he's the second leading scorer on his team only behind Mark Zengerle, a Wisconsin recruit who's tearing up the BCHL

Re: Maine Recruit Updates: The Search for Spock

No, they are all huddled up at the Super 8 in Manchester trying to get a copy of the invites to next years Monarchs tryout camp

Yep, and while Shemansky, Mangene, Flynn, Beattie, and Cornell all contribute to the team, Arnold can sit around in someone's basement and ponder his unstoppable scoring streak or maybe his future stardom as a Riverhawk.
