Re: Maine Recruit Updates: Monarchs and More......

Heisenberg confirms today Boisvert to Maine as well a defenseman for 2013 Jared Gilbert of Toronto Marlies jr. program.

It took quite awhile for Chris H. to confirm Boisvert. I sent him an e-mail about three weeks ago along with the news article. Probably backlogged or waiting for positive confirmation.

Well guess we both had emailed him on this one. He does a great job and we get to read it for free. Blame it on slow postage service from Canada!:p

Re: Maine Recruit Updates: Monarchs and More......

I found this info on the top shelf site about Gilbert. He's 5'11" 173 lbs. (left wing). I hope we don't lose him.

"Jared is in his fourth year with the Marlboro organization. He was a member of the champion Toronto Titans at the
International MM Prospect Tournament. He was a GTHL Minor Bantam champion in 2009 and was a GTHL semi-finalist
in 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2010. Jared's other interests include golf and basketball. He was his high school's
Top Athlete in his freshman year and also is a member of the Honour Roll. He will graduate in 2012."

The recruiting still looks pretty good,on paper.

Perhaps if Maine gets enough talent on the ice,the head coach won't be so much a factor anymore..?

Almost any Div-1 recruit is going to look pretty good on paper with their nice Jr/Prep stats; the real question is how do Maine's recruits compare to those from other HE schools. On the surface, it looks like Maine is still well behind BC, BU and probably UNH in that regard. Maine isn't landing too many Nyquists these days, so player development is of the utmost importance and am not sure if TIMMAY is up to that task.

Re: Maine Recruit Updates: Monarchs and More......

Just spotted this. Maine has another forward for next year John Parker of Muskegon of the USHL, looks like a good pick-up, but definitely not a sniper!

Just don't call him Jack.

Looks like a decent depth addition. One positive thing I noticed: Muskegon was not a great team. Parker was one of the few players with a positive +/-, and he was the leading point-getter among the handful of + players.

So . . . a solid, backchecking defensive forward?

post 10k?!? yikes

My favorite line: "One of the fastest skaters in the USHL, Parker took pride in playing all 200 feet of the ice." Speed is good!

Re: Maine Recruit Updates: Monarchs and More......

Ryan has spent 6 yrs with Team Comcast in the Atlantic Youth Hockey League. This past season his numbers are: 20 games, 9 goals, 16 assists, 25 points, 6 penalties and 20 penalty minutes. He will be 17 yrs. old this month. He is listed at 5' 10" 175 lbs.

Check out the Tier I Elite page
Ryan badger Team Comcast U18 AAA leading scorer and 12th in league play with 20 goals and 22 assists in 40 games. Not bad for a 16 year old. From what i understand wasn't interested in a inner city school so no to BU and BC and UNH cam calling late in the process. If he continues to develop and play his all out aggressive style i'm sure the Maine'ics will love this kid. Depending on the next 2 years i would say maine got an A- prospect with ton's of upside.

Time will tell, but lets hope so...Maine is in need of a TOP Flight player to bring back the HOPE of the Glory Day's...knowing full well that one player does not make a team, but a foundation is needed to attract others.

Parker was top a 50 recruit going into last year.....Hopefully he fills the void at the center position.

Parker was the best 92 forward in the Atlantic District a couple of years ago, from what folks have said he made the jumped to early and had some tough adjustments in the USHL. If he gets comfortable in Maine? Maine just stole a hockey player because this kid has all the intangibles "when he wants to play for someone"

Re: Maine Recruit Updates: Monarchs and More......

I agree and We have some great recruits coming in the next few years.

Re: Maine Recruit Updates: Monarchs and More......

Anyone know to what extent,if any,Corkum is out there recruiting..?(Something in that regard certainly seems to have changed for the better since his arrival.)
