Notes about the NHL draft:
USCHO reports that Michigan had six players or recruits drafted, and BU, BC, Minnesota, North Dakota, and Wisconsin had four players/recruits selected. Maine had three recruits drafted. Providence, UMass, UNH, Northeastern, and Miami had two each. A total of 27 colleges had 53 players/recruits drafted. Eleven colleges had more than one player/recruit drafted--seven of those were Hockey East schools.

Wouldn't he be a lot better off going to the Q just from the standpoint that it is more helter skelter than college hockey and he could put up more points? Also, can major junior players take endorsement deals? It seems like his parents are trying to tee some of that stuff up with all these publicity stunts. I'm just as happy he decommitted.

Well he's Re-made his bed and good for him, let the chips fall where they may...the task now is getting this Team on track, starting with goaltending, getting the defense to be sound and physical and to find some or any scoring...this year and next years recruiting class combined with last years very well could be the make or break for the Gendron & Co. ERA...(imo)

I think it may have been a month ago or so when Gendron was speaking down in Owls Head when he was quoted as saying something to the effect of by 2018 Maine will be competing for National Championships. I hope he still feels that way even after the latest recruiting news.

His parents are trying to market him as the next Eric Lindros/Sidney Crosby.......a matinee idol that can play hockey and sell products. Good luck to them.

I would bet a petition or move to go to OHL instead will be in the cards
Didn't even lead his bantam team in scoring last year.

He predicts that at every public speaking engagement he has been invited to recently.

That is the "NEED" for sure and will be one of many question-marks...Goaltending/Defense/and who will score...a lot of unknowns going into this upcoming season.

Not sure how one can say that Maine is getting there based on their record the last two years. If you like what you see on paper for the future you are certainly entitled to your opinion. I am not sure that being purely a big team will assure success. We shall see.

Staff has only been there 2 years, you wouldn't expect culture and roster to be theirs yet
They have some very good players coming in. Guite is an excellent recruiter. Red solid closer.
Papalardo for one will be a 150+ point guy there.

Team needs goalie scoring and defense but hey they're close. Lol.

Who wouldn't want Wahlstrom in college hockey? If he's talented I hope he shows up maybe by then Maine will have a supporting cast in place. If he projects as a high draft pick for his age group its good for college hockey if hes here. He's not ruling it out, lets just see what happens in a few years.
