Maine Offseason 2020: We Stay Home But Swayman Leaves

So by now the team would have normally been skating everyday. Anyone know if this is happening? Or if the ice isnt even in at alfond?

I never received an email, but I have nothing pertinent to add on the format.

Maine was 15th in the Pairwise when the season was cancelled, projected to qualify for the NCAA tournament.

Yeah, I had that wrong. Upon further review, Swayman could have gotten them in, and perhaps even carried them to the FF. It all seemed liked an illusion to me at the time, and largely as a result of that astounding jump in the PW pursuant to the miraculous BC weekend.

Anyhoo, everyone hates this format. Is there anyone to complain to?

Are all the guys even back? I think we have to start there. One of BU’s European players chose to stay home.

So i heard all the team is in orono including freshmen.
There is no ice in at this time.

That’s really good news. I’m feeling a lot more positive on a season happening. I’m not sure playing hockey adds a lot more risk for the players.

Nah, this covid crap is going to go on for years, life as we knew it is over and its a new game from now on. Society will adapt but it will take time.

The 1918 pandemic eventually died out after about 1.5 years with no vaccine, but not after killing about 675 thousand Americans.

It's still around but mutated with swine & bird flu's. It caused an epi/pandemic in 1957. It is now known as the common winter flu that shows up year after year, still mutating.

Roster is on the website and the only surprise is no Holesinsky. I’m excited to see if the freshmen forwards are any good. I know some folks judge the team solely on the basis of the top couple lines, but I’m encouraged in how the team has evolved.

At best, TV only, no fans? My guess, we have a REAL shutdown by Christmas that will make this last one seem minor.......

My guess right now is that we have a season and the nationwide shutdown happens sometime in the spring. I think it will be used in conjunction with the rollout of the vaccine.

I see a big shutdown coming also. Although UMaine still has no known cases so good for them. The southern part of the state isn't doing so well. Once winter weather hits all bets are off as I see it.

Im amazed at how pizz poor us americans have chosen to unite and get after this virus. No doubt though in todays world. I feel lucky to be living in maine with this going on. The hockey team is practicing with masks, good for them. A few complaints though Im sure. Keep it going!

When is Maine going to act on Gendron's contract? Or have they done so already? Recruiting players with a head coach on the last year of his contract would be challenging in my opinion.

I doubt anyone is out recruiting with current situation going on.

I believe there has been a ban on it from start of pandemic until January. Honestly I think given everything going on Red’s contract situation isn’t that important.
