Re: Maine Off Season 2011

Anybody following the Tampa Bay Bears,anymore..?

Teddy had a great game tonight, and so did Brett...Mike was solid as well;not sure why he isn't getting more shifts.

Half the fun of being a Maine fan (historically),is to see our guys succeed at the next level, and we're still seeing that happen, somehow.

Very enjoyable to watch.

We will do just fine. I like Amestoy he looked speedy and fast.
And if he can stay healthy,he had alot of bad luck to start the season which hindered his playing time...plus he has some moxie to go with his speed. He can add some secondary scoring on the 3rd line.

Yes it's good to see UM players and Tampa Bay has to be the surprise team as of now in the playoffs.

Nice to hear Tampa Bay's coach telling his team (and the players repeating in post game interviews), "Don't be afraid to lose; be hungry to win." I would love to have that be Maine's motto, but I don't see many similarities between Boucher and Tim.

Go Bears.

It used to be...but the last 10 seasons that has eroded to......REMEMBER when Maine was.......sad.

Re: Maine Off Season 2011

Nope. Now TIMMAY coaches not to lose, conservative and sit back and hold on when you get a lead, and when you do that, you end up losing a good amount of the time. No killer instinct, no putting teams away when you get them down.

Instead, you play passive, timid, tentative, and afraid to make a mistake.

Re: Maine Off Season 2011

Bangor voters go the polls today to vote on building a new arena. It will be able to host events like roller derby but no ice for hockey. That is the same mistake they made when they built the old barn 50 years ago.

Doesn't matter. The gerontocracy is firmly in control up there, it's not going to be a close vote. That town is 5 years away from not having a resident under the age of 40 who isn't on drugs.

I think it passes. Can't say that I blame youngs-uns for leaving the area

It would be nice to say SO LONG to that type of coaching, but The "LETS MAKE A DEAL" by Blake James ruins that. ONLY by next spring we can only hope that A.D. Abbott has NO choice but to Fire TW...

ice is a big expense for an arena without a permanenet hockey tenant. Bangor is not going to be an NCAA regional site, it is not going to have a pro team, and there are already local ice sheets for youth and high school programs. So you'll spend a few million on ice (and then have to maintain it) so you can have some high school tournament games. The only way ice would not be a money loser for Bangor would be to get an AHL franchise (not going to happen).
