Maine @ North Dakota - Oct 14 & 15

50 something in the country last year, is that horrible enough for ya:D. They should be better this year though. Be interesting to see how they handle the crowd at the Ralph. This isn't a great Maine team, if they work hard they can win but the stars will have to align

But the bears have the second coming of Robert G Orr, #57 in the program, but #1 in Timmay's hear Matt Mangene....victory is at hand with one man breakout band,at least according to the BDN

Maine steals friday night 4-3:D
Saturday night- Maine keeps the winning streak alive vs UND with a 3-2OT win.

I actually don't mind Mangene on D. I'd like to see Brice out there though

Beattie seems to be a good breakout guy

Re: Maine @ North Dakota - Oct 14 & 15

If Ouellette is focused on Friday he can help Maine steal a tie, maybe more if the offense shows up like they did against NU.

I also don't mind experimenting with Mangene on D, but he's gotta do more than carry it into the zone and turn it over. Nobody questions his ability to gain separation from defenses, but rather his ability to get the puck to his teammates.

Also: More Swavely!

Dear Joey Diamond,

Thank You for cheapshoting Ben Blood and p^ss!ing him off. That really changed the game. Good job.

I was starting to think Diamond had money on the game the way he was taking stupid penalties late.

Re: Maine @ North Dakota - Oct 14 & 15

Diamond cost Maine tn! 4 penalties, and one right at the start of a crucial pp. Tuff loss as Maine was outplaying Nodak.

Joey is good for that.

It appears the kid is not going to learn, what a shame

Maine definitely outplayed North Dakota in the first two periods, but I thought North Dakota had the better play in the third. Eidsness really played well, and I'm glad to see he, at least right now, looks like he found his game over the summer. I'd still like to see North Dakota play a bit better in their own zone. 30+ shots on goal allowed is not North Dakota hockey. Also, our powerplay needs to step up a bit. They had moments last night where they played well, but overall it is definitely still a work in progress. I guess that's October hockey :)

Re: Maine @ North Dakota - Oct 14 & 15

Going to watch the replay of this game before tonight's Gopher/Dogs tilt. Was the Diamond hit on Blood really dirty?

I wouldn't call it dirty, but it was stupid.

Thanks. This will be first time watching one of your games this year, so it will be interesting to see how your team looks. Tried to watch part of the Ice Breaker, but the feed was fubar. Though it's still really early, the WCHA is shaping up to be pretty interesting this year.

Re: Maine @ North Dakota - Oct 14 & 15

It looks like Diamond is getting benched for tonight. If he won't learn at least he won't screw his team over.
He is still screwing the team over as he is one of the best players on the team when he isn't in the box.I'm pretty sure you noticed, Maine isn't very deep.
Maine had a great Dman by the name of Prestin Ryan, he too was known as a dirty player but he finally learned he was a much better player on the ice then he was in the box. HE still got his shots in:D but he didn't hurt the team doing it.

Yeah, Diamond killed us last year, but apparently just his team this year. Hopefully the kid turns it around and is able to contribute effectively. He's a solid player who has the skill set to be an All-American. Like you said though, he needs to learn that he's more valuable on the ice than in the box.

Re: Maine @ North Dakota - Oct 14 & 15

article in the BDN quoted whitehead saying that Diamond will be benched. Sullivan will get the start in net tonight.
