Maine @ New Hampshire

Re: Maine @ New Hampshire

Finally a UNH fan that gives Maine some credit for taking it to UNH.

despite the score, I'd say they took it to UNH for most of the first two periods. There were some close moments in that third period, but as soon as UNH got on the board, the third goal was an absolute back breaker. Thats how you kill momentum though.

I think I'll watch the second game tonight which will be my third UNH game in the year. Hopefully they can salvage the split but with last nights effort i'd be happy with a tie..

If I was a UNH fan I wouldn't be packing my bags for Pittsburgh. I suppose they can turn it around but they don't look any better than Maine at this point.

All unh fans well i speak for most would never incinerate that unh would make pitt...most likely not even boston...the only date is Manchester in 3 weeks

Re: Maine @ New Hampshire

Joey Diamond completely lost it.

For all the good things Diamond does, he counters it with a total lack of control in crucial situations. Just when you think he has learned something and plays several games under control he loses it. Very frustrating to watch. It's probably frustrating for him too, but he can't seem to control his emotions in the heat of battle and the game on the line.

Why, but why, would you even think UNH fans thought we were so good that a FF appearance is (was) all but locked up? Have you even paid even scant attention to our record in 2013??? TW certainly did, and he was right. And having seen the Friday's game in person, and much of Saturday's on TV, I disagree with you: Maine looks better. They were on a mission, and fulfilled it. UNH was lucky to have a couple late strikes Friday to bring the game closer, and the late goal on Saturday to tie it up. I honestly expected a big win for UNH tonight -- but they failed this weekend. Maine deserved the 3 out of 4 it earned, and I commend the Black Bears for doing so. Our consistently high national ranking this year has reflected key early wins (in 2012) and some lucky breaks, not the comparative quality of our play since December (with a few exceptions.)
