Same here. This is barely high school level work.

Maine has had some power plays, but they're getting completely outplayed by MSU's PK, though. Role reversal from last night.

Okay what the He!! is going on? Where was that penalty? I know Diamond is a pain in the ***, but he's been tripped, stood in front of the net and tried to avoid the goalie only to run into him and had 3 minors! Don't suppose someone said hey that 39 is dirty!!! Actually overall not a bad game from Maine tonight. Sullivan has been okay, 2 goals were both ? marks, but has not had to make too many grade A's.

Don't know whether i am discouraged or disappointed, expected a split this weekend so last nights tie was a killer given that we are looking at an L tonight.

But in the long run still believe in this team,

Agree...typical MSU style defense...good with the sticks down low and good goaltending...frustration

I have to respectfully disagree. I think they have looked awful tonight. Granted the officiating has been very suspect which hasn't helped but if this is the team we see this year I am very disappointed.

Neegs I expected more, but it is the 4th game of the year and Sullivan is getting his first start. First line still has not scored an even strength goal or at least Nyquist has not and we know that will happen. At times we have controlled and have killed penalties better, and both goals were ? marks. Not sure what we all expected to start the year, but still believe as the season develops we will be better. People can question Sullivan starting, but how else are you going to determine who is going to be #1 and #2 as the season continues?

Where Maine has looked poor has been on the power play.

I don't blame the refs for Maine losing. I blame Maine's power play, and credit MSU's shotblocking for that.

I blame the refs for this game having absolutely no flow, with all the intensity of a flute recital. I don't get to see a lot of games in HD. Kind of a bummer that this one is such a dud. The score doesn't help, either, of course.

Apparently they didn't like Diamond taking fake penalties - so they took him out in the corner. :)

So much for the #1 key to the game. I am not watching the game but these are the same officials as last night. Players need to adjust to the officiating.

If this were Hockey East, I'd agree. I don't want them to "learn" anything based on tonight. If anything, they'll be better served by taking things up a notch in the future, not down.

And it is only MSU's 2nd game of the year so I would expect Maine to have the advantage having played last weekend. What I see is the same thing that has bugged me about most Whitehead teams and that is a team sitting back and waiting for something to happen instead of pushing the play. If it weren't for the powerplays how many shots would they have? Just seems to be the same old same old and I expected more. Granted, things can improve over the course of the year and I hope they do but I am not impressed at this early look.
