Re: Maine Hockey 2014-15 Volume 2: Red's Revenge

This game followed the pattern of many games this season. Give up goals late in periods and leads late in games. Going to be tough to win 2 straight at this point.[/QUOTE

YA THINK ? Series Ovah!

If Morris was 2 inches taller he would have had it. It was a great shot in the roof. Did you see the new goalie recruit was paying his own way into Maine?

Must be a hot commodity, or just the generous sort. Tom Brady the goalie giving up his own $$ to get better teammates.

I'm trying to be optimistic.:)[/QUOT

Admire optimism, but I ve been doin that for years now. Nothing changes, we lose tight critical games in heartbreaking fashion. A good coach should be able to pull out 50 % of tight games against a better team when we have a lead late in a game, and we consistently cough those games up.

You have a point. Dennehy defeating NU tonight in OT is an impressive win.

At least as hot as Howat.......and probably better than the other 2. Hopefully, Morris and Romeo will at least buy him a coffee now and then.

As much as I like Dennehy.. he had nothing to do with that 3rd ot goal.. was all NU most of the 3rd & all of OT.. then our goalie gives up a goal on a routine shot from (it seemed).. 25 feet out. I give Mack credit for hanging in all gm.. also.. they were supported by solid goaltending which may be both our problem tonight..

Re: Maine Hockey 2014-15 Volume 2: Red's Revenge

I'm so disappointed... we had this game. We skated with them, were even territorially.... It's hard to tell if the goalies were playing good or just no scoring ability exhibited by both teams. The third goal was a good shot but geez, sometimes your goalie needs to make a tough save and it seems like we haven't had that all year. Red seems to go with the same guys during crunch time, with the same results. I could go on but I won't, so gd disappointed.....

Re: Maine Hockey 2014-15 Volume 2: Red's Revenge

Whose fault was the 3rd goal?
Anyone that came in contact with the puck or should have come in contact with the puck in that whole sequence. That goal was scored at the blue line, just after the puck was dropped on the face off. What a cluster **** that was.

Re: Maine Hockey 2014-15 Volume 2: Red's Revenge

I don't want anyone to lecture me about patience. This was a very winnable game and we once again blew it. The time to start winning is now! .....and we cant do it.
No doubt a winnable game, mistakes cost them the game. the same play we've seen all year. Would have been nice if Morris came up with a big save there at the end but would have been nicer if Renouf had actually cleared the puck. Maybe they are trying to see how many games they can give away or how many ways they can do it

I would assume that McGovern paying his way the first season is that most to all of next years Scholarship money is tied up with present and incoming recruits. During the days of Shawn Walsh(R.I.P.)he would find ways after their Freshman year to help them out, either through 1/4-1/2-3/4...depending on what they had and how much the player improved...this kind of is a incentive to move up in that department and with him coming in he should be seem as a player of interest and somewhat of a sign to both Remeo/Morris that there jobs are at stake along with a roster depth spot...myself I am hoping he(McGovern)comes in and seizes the chance and finally brings some stability to the Goaltending so that they can work on the defense. IMO the only way this Program heads in the right direction is they have to shore up the back end(goaltending/defensive zone play)and go from there...this team has many to all areas to improve at. I would say that this season has to rank as a disappointment in that they did not progress on the ice and even those with on ice experience showed a lack of progress to a point. MUCH still to do...with expectations even the faint at heart are having trouble with...from the onset we all knew this would be a painful ride back to respectability.

Jeff Cox story from SBN

I have heard from numerous sources on this but I'm not getting into details because I don't have the whole story so don't ask. I'll just say I am very disappointed in the whole situation.

Also, Whitneigh broke the news that Sean Romeo will get the start in net tonight.

Too bad to hear that about Picararo, thought it was strange he has been out for so long,as a few speculated that his so called poor defensive zone play was a reason for him not playing...hopefully this can be resolved...and lets hope that Remeo has what it takes to force a game 3 tomorrow.

Re: Maine Hockey 2014-15 Volume 2: Red's Revenge

Typical Maine game, get a goal, but then give one up just a short time later.

Re: Maine Hockey 2014-15 Volume 2: Red's Revenge

Maine takes a 2-1 lead early in the 2nd.....I think that we know what happens next.

Also #6 Northeastern goes down to #11 Merrimack in 2 straight......season over for the Huskies. That's gotta hurt.
