Re: Maine Hockey 2013-2014 - Red White Bleeding Blue...

it was corkum who hit him. major did play vs and his line shut down bennettes line. funny thing is bennette had majors oldest son up for a visit and that series came up. funny how both had slightly different versions. bennettes line was unbelievable that series

Seems I'm outvoted 2-1 but I probably should have said Bobby and I would have had all my bases covered. Regardless it was a super hit and a great finish to a hard fought playoff game.

You seem quite familiar with the statutes... ;)

That would have been tough, since Major graduated in 1989.

The game we're talking about here was the third game of the quarterfinal series (Providence at Maine) of the 1989 NCAA tournament. Major and Corkum were seniors and Bennett was a junior.

The BBG line. They were great....we were a little better. :D Roof came off the the Alfond when Robitaille scored on that backhander in close.

Was there any other UPDATE's on the Schedule as in playing: Canisius/Colgate/Penn State...or if not one of these three teams then if some other team may be added to the Schedule?

Assuming the B1G/HEA challenge is still on and that all teams are going to get at least one series, it would seem UConn, UMass, Vermont and Maine are almost guaranteed games with Ohio State and/or Penn State. Those two teams have 16 games available between them.

However, I noticed that Merrimack now has a full schedule and the only B1G opponent is Minnesota IF a tournament breaks right. Otherwise, they have no B1G opposition. I do notice MC is playing a NC game @UConn and have Lowell NC in the Marriucci (that was good planning).

I chose Colgate out of conference because they are set to open a new arena in 2015 and I have heard that Maine is a marquee opponent they want to open the building. It would make sense for them to come to Maine this year with the return next year.

The Canisius thing is a complete shot in the dark. It's almost a certainty that someone from the AHA will be coming to Alfond this season, Canisius would be a nice change of pace and they do have a guy named Walsh on the payroll...

Michigan State still has two games open so I hold out hope the team will spend the New Year in East Lansing, but MSU already has three HEA opponents.

Yeah.......that was the pinnacle of Shawn Walsh hockey at the Alfond.:D

That was the "old" Alfond with fans were raucous, before the renovation that added the upper bowl. Even in 92-93 we didn't have crowds as awesome as that.

Senior moment. For some reason I was thinking that was 1990. Oh, the years fly by.

Just wondering if anything had changed and a more certain Schedule was mentioned @ The Banquet. As for the Banquet were all the players there(2013-14 Roster)? With the exception of Lomborg, figured he was not allowed to be there because of the on going issues.
