Re: Maine Hockey 2013-2014 - Red White Bleeding Blue...

Ryan McLaughlin of the Bangor Daily News spoke with Orono PD. These are his tweets:

Lomberg, a sophomore, was charged with assault and disorderly conduct in connection with April 26 incident. He was not arrested.
He is scheduled to appear in court on June 19 to face the charges. He is currently suspended from the hockey team.
According to Orono PD, the altercation between Lomberg and the victim stemmed from a disagreement over a dog.
Lomberg was charged by Orono PD on Thursday night.
The victim was not seriously injured.
ETA:
Dog issue is somewhat complicated, but earlier issue that had been resolved was brought up again at party, according to Orono PD

Orono PD conducted numerous interviews and "determined that Lomberg was the aggressor in the situation. He wasn't defending himself."

I'd fight over my dog also.

Is a shod foot considered assault with a deadly weapon in Maine? If so, that's a big one.

it can be... i'm inclined to think that it is not being used in this case as the charge would have been "Aggravated Assault" or "Elevated Aggravated Assault," which is a Class A crime.

If charged simply charged with Assault, it is a Class D crime and likely would result in a fine of no less than $300.

It was confirmed by Dan Hannigan at the hockey banquet last night that Union College will be playing AT THE ALFOND next October after returning from Anchorage

Was there any other UPDATE's on the Schedule as in playing: Canisius/Colgate/Penn State...or if not one of these three teams then if some other team may be added to the Schedule?

I remember it being Pellerin. Don't think Major played against Bennett? That was a great weekend decided in game 3 on a Martin Robitaille goal in OT after a Pellerin lazer shot had tied it.

it was corkum who hit him. major did play vs and his line shut down bennettes line. funny thing is bennette had majors oldest son up for a visit and that series came up. funny how both had slightly different versions. bennettes line was unbelievable that series
