Re: Maine Hockey 2013-2014 - Red Light District

You got your wish. However, would it have been a better idea to give Morris some ice-time? This kid needs to play some games with Marty and Sully graduating this year.

MaineMan,

Matt Morris suffered a season ending injury before the season started and will redshirt this year. The team picked up the former manager Matt Strickrott as the third goalie. Morris, Romeo, and maybe? another goalie recruit will compete for time next year.

On an encouraging note, Maine is currently ranked at #17 in the Pairwise. Only about 2-3 spots out of an automatic bid for the playoffs.

I had no idea. That's a shame. Hopefully the Bears can find a way to figure out the goaltending situation next year. Marty is keeping them in a lot of games this year.

Devin Shore is Hockey East Player of the Week after picking up six more points this weekend.

Re: Maine Hockey 2013-2014 - Red Light District

Should have said third line. My mistake, although earlier I think he might have been down on the fourth. I think last night was just a case of AIC concentrating on shutting the Shore line down. Good to see that when teams try that, the other lines step up, but remains to be seen if that happens against better quality opponents.

The Shore line was taken off the ice for a period of time in the 2nd period.

At this stage, PWR jumps around like a gerbil on amphetamines.

I take your point, though. It's nice to look at a PWR list, and not find Maine by starting at the bottom and searching up.

Morris is still on crutches so whatever it is, it can't be good

My point was that as worried as everyone was about Maine's ooc, the are sitting at #17 without wining a road game. So there is a good possibility that they won't have to win the HE tournament to get into the NCAA's. If they keep dominating at home (which they can no doubt win out) and win some games on the road, they will be sitting pretty well come March.

Anyone else get a receipt for 446 tickets at a total of $33,225.00 in with their Frozen Fenway tickets? Has Joe Roberts name on it. Must be for all of the tickets sold by the U.

Re: Maine Hockey 2013-2014 - Red Light District

I paid for my Fenway frozen four tickets when I paid for my season ticket order, Here it is December 16th and I have not receive them in the mail yet. Has any season ticket holder who paid for them along with their season ticket order received their tickets yet? I would think that we should have had them by now.. I called the season ticket office last month and they said that they were going to be mailed out at the end of November?? Still no tickets

I inquired also and was told that there was a delay at the other end(Fenway/Boston)...and that they would be sent out from Boston and most likely coming in the mail this week.

And this may be jumping the gun a little bit, but I thought it was kinda nice, in an article in the BDN about the FF being in Boston next year, how the players interviewed were really psyched about it, and talking about how great it would be to make it there.

I just thought it was great, that this is the new mindset of the Maine hockey team, that they're looking to get to the Frozen Four. Not just hoping for home ice in the HE playoffs.

That's a collector's item! Have it autographed ;)

The way this winter is going so far, folks going to Frozen fenway best know how to dress for the cold. Imagine a night like last night sitting outside for a few hours, brutal

The way I'm burning oil right now I'll be burning my Frozen Fenway tickets to keep warm pretty soon. Cold snaps like this come in Feb. Not the fall (technically).

We got lucky last time. I remember walking around Boston with a light fall jacket or maybe it was just a sweatshirt when I was there for the frozen fenway. I've sat outside relatively motionless for several hours in similar frigid conditions, not that pleasant but certainly possible...
