Coz would be a great AD and looking at what Bobby Wilder's done at ODU, they should've given it to him and made Wilder football HC when they went with James when Nero left.

Laura Reed...I don't see it.

The fact that its illegal in this country to do what Maine wants to do overseas tells you how ethical it is. I also wonder how profitable those kids really are if you have to pay 25% (front loaded) to someone else. The focus needs to shift from trying to raise revenue so no one in administration gets laid off to what is the most effective way to educate Maine kids given the resources available. I think they need to look at reducing supply if there is excess capacity and also utilize new technology. It's doubtful any of that will happen though.

the part that bothers me is that if you follow the money, you will see that it leads right into John McKernan and Olympia Snowe's pockets, like the multi millions they made from the University of Phoenix scam.

not surprising, really. If anyone else noticed the headline in The Onion this week, it hit the nail right on the head... it said "John Kerry Costs US Defense Industry $400" follow the money

So what's the date for the first official practice, with coaches and everything?

Re: Maine Hockey 2013-2014 Part 1: Red Dawn

For only the 15th time in program history the football team is 3-0 to start the season.

The administration closed most dining halls and sent the students to the barbecue.

Maine recruit Nolan Vesey had two goals in 8-4 loss for South Shore Kings. Junior Bruins Shootout is this coming weekend at Marlborough. I'll be there and will pass along any info I receive on Maine commits/targets.

If anyone is in Saco area, Portland Jr. Pirates not a bad take. Natick, Mass. and Governor's Academy alum Cam Laughlin off to a hot start for Pirates. Winthrop, Maine native and Union commit Mark Dufour off to a good start for Middlesex Islanders.

I have received 2 -3 e-mails promoting the Battle of The Bears at the Androscoggin Bank Colisee on October 5th. I wonder if tickets are selling slowly. They can be bought here.

I guess no national tv coverage for Maine this year, according to this...

Considering NBCSN and NESN have not announced their schedules yet, that isn't surprising. At the very least, the two games at Notre Dame will be televised on NBCSN. The Frozen Fenway games are on NESN, so that's three games Maine will be in.

Re: Maine Hockey 2013-2014 Part 1: Red Dawn

More Title IX problems that have no coherent reason to exist, if not for the Quixotic attempts on the part of the NCAA to persuade us all that women's athletics are in any way relevant.

Big-time womens' hoops are watched by a few people, yes, but the other female sports in general are completely ignored, aside from friends and family.

Not trying to be sexist, but that's just how it is... Let the water find it's own level.

Since when is college athletics about how many people watch?
