Trades people continued to work, at least some. Guys who were tied strictly to new housing construction, may be not but guys who did all phases of their trade stayed afloat

I guess that Bangor and Portland are now officially in play............

Of course, we all know that Bangor will never host due to their lack of ice making capability (would be too expensive to bring in one time)..........but at least the 5K seating requirement and "championship caliber facility" can be checked off. Portland should have a good shot in the future if they want to spend the money.........they are building hotels like crazy downtown/Old Port and of course the CCCC is being renovated,

One thing no one can take away from TW is his ability to get the best out of his student-athletes off the ice. Too bad he couldn't have gotten better performances on the ice as well.

I think this is outstanding. This seems like 3 guys that are Maine guys that have all been there and done that and have the t-shirt to prove it. The key will be to keep the energy up. the recruiting needs to start now and the off season work has to get going. I like Gendrons down to earth style. I feel like he has more of a Mainuh mentality... common sense. And hopefully he also has the other side of a Mainuh, wether we like it or not, get your gd arse in gear...

Love that hire, and Guite's, too.

We have a staff of capable and frothing-at-the-mouth Maine guys in Orono now, and that's all I was looking for.

Mark Nemec doing this in mechanical engineering no less....truly the epitomy of a student athelete. Congrats to him.

Yeah.....very happy with the coaching staff. Lets get it going ;)

Penn State released its schedule. They are playing Air Force, which eliminates both teams as options. UConn is an option now because they were supposed to play a game with Merrimack and that has been canceled.

Teams that can play Maine the first weekend in October:
Canisius, Connecticut, Niagara, Sacred Heart

All those opponents, plus Cornell, are available to play 12/20.

None are available to play @Maine 1/3 or 1/4 but Maine could play @Cornell on 1/4.

The only other options available are midweek games, or Maine could join the parade of teams that are not playing the maximum number of games available.

I know there was some sentiment on this board that it would be nice to retain Corkum, and to give him a chance under a different HC. There was also some worry about how realistic that would be.

At any rate, I'm happy with the hires. My thinking was always "go big or go home." Either clean house, or don't bother.

I wouldn't have guessed Gendron/Leach/Guite, but the more I think about it, there's a lot to like. On paper, it looks like a pretty good staff, with college and pro experience up to here.

I'm actually anxious for next season. Let's see what GLG can do. Maine isn't loaded, but the cupboard isn't bare. There's some talent returning. Let's do this.
