I can see Maine finishing higher than 8th, but four things will have to happen:
- Martin Oullette play as well as he did last season.
- Maine needs to find reliable 5th/6th D
- Gendron's up tempo/high intensity style needs to generate more offense.
- Depth issues (BU) and lack of offense (MC) need to rear its head for those teams.
Today was media day for Hockey East at the TD Garden. Coaches have Maine finishing in 8th spot out of 11 teams. Meaningless poll really, but adds a little fun to the preseason expectations. For what it's worth (as much as the coaches) I have Maine finishing 5th.
