Amazing how they were crying poverty when this years' pathetic schedule was released.........but they don't seem to have much of a problem coming up with $100K+ to host this tourney..............huh.

It's just a conspiracy to make you upset.

Lindsay Kramer

The Tampa Bay Lightning haw hired David Alexander to work as the Crunch's goaltending and video coach.

Alexander brings 10 years of goalie coaching experience to the Crunch. The Moncton, New Brunswick, native worked with the Maine Black Bears for five seasons and also with Hockey New Brunswick and Canada's U17 Team Atlantic.

Alexander also serves as the director of goaltending development with Alexander Goaltending and a member of the Goaltending Consultant Group. His personal clients have competed at the World Championships and include two AHL All-Star appearances and an NHL Rookie All-Star team selection.

Alexander is a 2006 graduate of the University of New Brunswick, where he obtained his bachelor's degree in education.

"The decision to come to Syracuse wasn't just about finding any job for me. It was about finding the right job," Alexander said in a statement. "What made this decision the one for me started from the top with my interviews with Steve Yzerman. From an organizational and coaching standpoint we have the same philosophies. As I continued to meet and interview with others, such as Julien BriseBois and Rob Zettler, the feeling that we were all on the same page continued to become more and more evident.

"It's amazing to think the new season is just around the corner, I'm very excited about the new opportunity to grow as a coach and to work alongside such well respected people as Rob and Trent Cull."

c'mon sandie you can do better then this. Even after facts have been reported that will make money on this tourney and gain national exposure, you still have whine about things.

Re: Maine Hockey 2013-2014 Part 1: Red Dawn

It was not included at BU, season ticket holders were given right of refusal for their seats though, not that this would be the case for you guys since it's not at Alfond.

This is easy money, they will make a profit and are not "coming up with $100K+" at worst they have to front the transportation and lodging costs before selling the tickets and making it back. See my previous post for math.

Maine has a history of forcing season ticket holders to include their regular season tickets at the CCCC in thier purchase, iirc.

And if Maine does not do that, then why would you assume that Maine's lowest home "attendance" would be an indication of probable ticket sales.
this is a 4 game tournament, and a lot of Mainers who CAN shell out $20 per ticket to go to games in Orono, are not going to shell out $50 per day, per ticket to see St.Cloud play Clarkson and Maine play Michigan State.

last, I can tell you that last season's attendance and reported attendance were different by about a factor of 2 to 3.

Re: Maine Hockey 2013-2014 Part 1: Red Dawn

Why are so many quoting a $50 ticket price for the '15 Ice Breaker? Have ticket prices been announced? Or are you just assuming that since the U attempts to sell their best Alfond seats for $50 that that will be the price at the CCCC? I don't believe they are so dumb as to try that kind of pricing, since they'll never get it.

I am pretty sure that they will only sell day 1 tickets and day 2 tickets, each ticket is good for 2 games.
how much do you think they will sell a ticket for, for 2 NCAA games?

Re: Maine Hockey 2013-2014 Part 1: Red Dawn

When I sent in my Season Ticket renewal, I also sent my Form in for the Fenway tickets as well. I wonder what Percentage of season ticket holders sent in the Form for fenway tickets in Jan.

I used $50 total for both doubleheaders, not $50 for each night, based on nothing, a conservative estimate, I'd guess $60 is more likely, but still got the $187K figure.

What do you think attendance would be each day as well as price?

I'll defer to your experience, but I'm certainly OK with paying $50/day to see this field in Portland... Clarkson is the only clunker in the tournament, assuming that Maine responds well to it's new leadership.

(And I get to drink Gritty's Black Fly, wander around the Old Port, and stay with my brother for free. ;))

When did the teams in the tournament get announced?

MaineHockeyMom just pulled those teams out of their ***.

Gendron said he hasn’t had time to think about prospective teams for the tourney but he will work closely with the athletic department and College Hockey Inc. to put it together.

“I’m sure it will be a great field,” said Gendron.
