Agreed. Every point is important in HE. Winning on the road is something they have to learn and gain confidence from. Funny saying that 2 games in Amherst on Nov 1st are big....but they are!

Leen with a goal in the last minute. Refs are reviewing. 2-1 Maine, pending the review.

No Goal.

1-1, 45 seconds left.

and 18 seconds later, Leen runs into Mastalerz and heads to the box.

heading to OT. Maine will be shorthanded for the first 1:33.

Those games were considered Out Of Conference Games...will happen again this Season vs Vermont...games at UMaine will be Hockey East and games @ the Gutt will be Out of Conference Games. Game tonight and tomorrow are Hockey East.

Two very evenly matched teams, just as the score indicates. Maine's penalty kill continues to be very good.

Maine blocked 27 shots tonight and only missed the net with 9 attempts. Outstanding effort. The game ended a 1-1 tie but there were 132 shots attempted in a 65 minute game. That is 2.03 shots every minute. A veritable shooting gallery. UMA should have won that game but Marty came up with 2 or 3 amazing saves and Power inexplicably missed a wide open net in the third.

Looked to us like Lomberg was hit from behind on the way in. The UMASS commentators thought so too.

The explanation "from the booth" at the time was that the goalie was hurt and was "unable to play his position" so the goal was disallowed. Not sure how that morphed into goalie interference. Makes you wonder if that was just a bad decision not supportable by the rules and the interference call was a cover.

2-0 Umass after 2. Maine has nothing on offense tonight and the PP is awful. Very uninspired performance after 2 periods.

Are you watching the Umass feed? I wish I would have bought it. The guy who fills in for Hannigan is tough to listen to.

Yeah. I decided to drop the cash after about 5 min of listening to whomever the fill in guy is.
