Watching the Bruins game tonight and noticed that Zach Sill is playing for Pittsburgh. I remember he left the team or was dismissed back in 06 I think? Does anyone remember the reason?

Well, if Priceless keeps it up it will soon be him and runsub having a lonely and only conversation on here.

I'm sorry. I thought people on the hockey thread cared when the hockey game was going to be played.

In the latest poll Maine picked up 9 votes. BU has 14 votes, and BC stayed where it was from last week as the 7th place team. Good thing polls are scientific and not political.

You must not know how polls work. Did you expect maine to jump ahead of BC or something because of one game? The polls mean absolutely nothing anyway. They start with arbitrary preseason rankings and you fluctuate from there.

Like that for everyone. Could be second round matchups that are Southland-Southland (Sam Houston vs. #4 Southeastern Louisiana), OVC-OVC (Tennessee State vs. #2 Eastern Illinois) and Big Sky-Big Sky (#3 Eastern Washington-Northern Arizona).

It's regionalization. If Maine had beat UNH, they likely would have been a higher seed, but their bracket would have been identical (well, maybe UNH wouldn't have made it so it would have been Lafayette-William and Mary).

Kinda figured that something along those lines was the case, but lacked the ambition to look it up... Thanks.

IMO, the FCS-field has gone overboard as far as "inclusion" goes. Sixteen reasonable selections would have included every team that merited a berth to play for the NC, and I'd prefer that all games were sited fairly from the get-go, without regard for geography.

Seems to me that the FCS is falling all over itself to be seen as more equitable than than the FBS, and is looking silly as a result.

Just in an effort to keep this thread in a multi-user mode, did anyone here see Bish post a 37-save shutout tonight, while Teddy potted two goals?

Tampa Bay is our NHL team to watch this season.

Re: Maine Hockey '13-14: Are you Red-E?

I was just told the game vs Lowell has not been officially changed. However, I bought a ticket last night and it very clearly is for 12/6 at 7:30. Draw your own conclusions.

There should be an announcement about the change this AM.

Personally, I don't like it for a couple reasons. I travel from Portland so it's a preplanned commitment that includes 4 hours of round trip driving + dinner plans when I go. There are plenty of people who aren't Bangor-local who would have attended both had it been the same day, but can't make it a 2 day/overnight commitment because of work, kids, prior commitments. I already got a message from a friend in Eastport who had hockey tickets, would have bought football tickets if things stayed the same, but said if they move the hockey game they're going to have to pass on football for that very reason.

There was football and hockey together at homecoming.... and it was awesome.... it always is on the rare days it happens. So I really don't understand what the problem is.

I agree. I come up from Portland as well and was planning to go to both games..but same deal as you. Plus it's not like there's 80,000 people coming to the game. It made me laugh last weekend when people were leaving the hockey game with 5 min left to beat the "traffic". Please. So it takes you 5 minutes to get to the highway instead of 10...better get going.

That's a great point you made, about not having to make two trips.

It seems to me to be detrimental to move the game because people come from all over Maine and don't want to spend two days driving when they could do it in one.

If Maine ends up playing UNH there will be plenty of folks from NH coming up and taking parking places, but so be it.

It will be a fun day for two big games and will have the atmosphere of a second homecoming weekend.

I understand why but I don't like Sunday games. I probably won't go to the Hockey game now, wife can't go as she works on Sunday.
