Maine Black Bears 2026 Offseason: Missing Out on Mistlebacher

Gametimes aren't noted anywhere that I'm aware of, but a noon start is likely the earliest Maine has ever played. We've had a few 1PM starts because of football and other schedule conflicts, but not noon.

Although if we count scrimmages, the old Blue-White game at 12:01AM during Midnight Madness at the Alfond was the earliest...

They should bring back the 12:01 am game

Black Bear Nation can purchase tickets exclusively through GoBlackBears.com/MIHTickets beginning at 12 p.m. on Wednesday.

Additional event information surrounding alumni events will be announced at a later date

Upper deck tickets are $60.
 
Single game tickets for contests at Alfond Arena will be available for purchase online or via phone (M-F, 8:30 a.m.- 4:00 p.m.). Sales are online only during non-business hours.

Due to anticipated high demand, fans are encouraged to purchase single game tickets early. Single-game tickets range from $31-$95, with an additional $7 fee per ticket on gameday purchases.

Barr was recently on a podcast called Mindset Matters, it was an interesting listen. He states that he knew within 2 weeks of players being on campus last year he knew there were going to be cultural issues. He says that last year everyone was scrambling to bring in CHL players without much due diligence, and how it was a big mistake. He heavily implies that they were grabbing draft picks because they were affordable NIL-wise, and that he turned down bringing in drafted players this year because they didn't seem like they were going to be a good fit for the team culture/living in Orono. It looks like last year was a big learning lesson for the staff.

I'd be very interested to see what players last year were being paid if anyone feels like submitting a FOIA request.

Listening to this right now, find it interesting how he says he has this job because of Jim Montgomery.
