Maine Black Bears 2026 Offseason: Missing Out on Mistlebacher

Michigan State @ UNH
St. Cloud @ BC
Denver @ BU
Minnesota State @ Merrimack
St. Cloud @ Vermont
Ohio State @ Sacred Heart
Ohio State @ RPI

Is it really that hard for teams to fly into BIA and travel 10 minutes up I-95 to play at one of the best barns in college hockey? Barr should be rotating 2 Western teams every season....1 series at home & 1 on the road.

David Breazeale and Nolan Renwick are facing the Maine Mariners in Portland. They are team mates with the Wheeling Nailers. The Nailers lead the series 2-1 in a best of 7 series to win the northern division in the ECHL.

I agree with you that Maine should schedule more variety in their opponents, but every year that passes I find it less likely. I get the sense that Maine is just fine scheduling Quinnipiac plus a decorative cupcake arrangement.

If that is the case Barr's gotta own that one. Not sure how anyone can objectively look at Voronin on tape and see his underlying numbers and think you can risk pushing him a year without him going to another program. With how freely players can move around these days you can't really use that strategy with talented players anymore.
As far as I can tell the wait a year stuff is all speculation

Huh? Taxpayers buy tickets with State funds?
Athletics programs at public schools are supported by taxpayers.

And yes, tickets are purchased with state funds. How much do you think the school could get if it told the students to pound sand and open up the balcony to the public?

WTF are you talking about?

We are talking about scheduling Western teams....and someone said that they might have to charge premium ticket prices. I mentioned that Merrimack is scheduling a Western opponent in their rink that seats half the amount of fans that Alfond does. You then. go on some tangent about Maine taxpayers funding hockey ticket purchases. Seriously dude?

Anyone Maine fans out there using taxpayer dollars to purchase their season tickets for 2026-2027? Or are you using your earned income, savings or credit cards to fund these ticket purchases?
