Re: Maine 2012 - Take 2. If This Ain't the Bottom...

And for the love of Jeezus........will the remaining season ticket holders PLEASE stop empowering this crap next year if Whitehead returns!!!!

DO NOT BUY SEASON TICKETS IN 2013-2014 IF TIM WHITEHEAD RETURNS..........YOU ARE JUST REWARDING FAILURE!:mad::mad:

Yeah, I think this will be my last year until they get rid of timmay.

Re: Maine 2012 - Take 2. If This Ain't the Bottom...

Timmay will be giving a t-shirt to any players(s) who take his post game advice and give a stronger effort tonight. The shirt will have "I"m a 5%er!" written on the front. With leadership like this, Maine is sure to win a home game this season.

I thought this team had some hope but no. The only bright spot is Marty.

One play in the 2nd stood out to me, 2 on 2, Vermont defending it well, Maine comes down on right side, sees the D is playing it well tries to get in close and takes a limp wrister an misses the net. Why don't Maine players grip it and rip from the top of the circle on a well defended play and hope for a rebound. I'm thinking Niko(as an example) would have ripped it and let the Vermont Defender try and block it without getting hurt. Offensively this team is so challenged.

This home losing streak is so far into their heads at point.

couple other things, Joey interfered with the goalie, it was great play by someone who wants to win.
He took buttends to the face, trips, cross checks and a host of other things in order to be close enough to interfere, yet nothing gets called. HE refs are joke.

4000 paid attendance, what joke, lose tonight and maybe Abbott will pull the trigger during Christmas break

At this point in the season it really does look as if just making the Hockey East playoffs will be an accomplishment.

4,000....wow, how things have gone from bad to worse. Agree, Abbott should probably do something sooner rather than later. Its actually painful to watch these guys try to play hockey. Especially against a team as challenged as Vermont is. Just glad I had the option to flick over and watch the BC-BU game, real hockey.

Whitehead's teams continue to make the wrong plays, wrong decisions on the ice. Over and over again. The kids are obviously not getting proper coaching.

Man, both teams looked really, really slow and choppy when compared to the WCHA game I was flipping between.

In a sick, twisted way, I'm kind of hoping they don't make the HE tourney this year. I think things have to hit rock bottom for a coaching change to occur, and I'd rather that happen sooner than later. On the other hand, I'll be watching on TV tonight, cheering for the Blue and White.

There are so many obvious signs that this is never going to work or get better with TW running this Hockey Program...and no matter when you get the quotes of money being made by the program compared to others...it comes down to winning games/playing Post Season Hockey and to be mentioned and a good chance to play for a NC...the recruiting trail has only one path that leads to Maine...and that is players that would be good depth players and players that would learn from Talented Upper-Classmen,but that is no more...these players some with enough talent to be good 2nd liners and d-man that are 5-6-7 on the d-man charts...more or less they are thrown into the fire, and yes you need to lose to learn, but this group over the last 4-5 years come in and regress as seasons go on...that leads all to TW...he's gone as far as he can with this Program...more or less has torn all the foundation down and this is his type of Hockey:Rag/Tag,some promise but all in all a squad that is going nowheres this year or next if he's allowed to stay. Now there's one Man that has to deal with this: A.D. Abbott, you can't tell me he can't see the problem and what needs to be done...he knows and the good % of fans know it also,BUT do you think he pulls the trigger at the end of the season..? Yes/No..???? My take is that as I've harped on before this is his "HOBBY" of sorts....he spends less time @ the U then he does in Portland...his aspirations are in Politics and no matter what he says and what some may think...he's walking a tight line when it comes to making his decision....how it looks "IF" he releases/buys out TW....so if this is the reason he keeps TW on for the 2013-14 season then he should get done as the A.D. @ Maine...do one thing or the other be a A.D. or hit the trail to Politics....pick one. This MESS needs to be addressed and the REBUILDING begins.

Re: Maine 2012 - Take 2. If This Ain't the Bottom...

Abbott's got bigger fish to fry than Whitehead the next few weeks.....Unspeakable. I'm in a little shock.

Lose tonight and maybe a few players pull the trigger and go play where they can get to a next level

runsub, I gotta ask... who does more to "detract" from Maine hockey? those of us who suggest plans to make it better, or TIMMY?
isn't Timmy the real detractor?

Re: Maine 2012 - Take 2. If This Ain't the Bottom...

The guy worked all his life to get where he dreamed of being, somehow life is so bad he offs his(former I assume) girlfriend and himself. Sad
Current girlfriend, from the article. Also, sad to note a recurring theme of violence towards his girlfriends. Sad.

probably more likely to beat up a current girlfriend, killing seemed right for a former girlfriend. She probably just told him to F off. Either way I'll never understand

No question Hoffman should have been called as well as Dimond for the spear. Seeing this kind of stuff in front of the goal especially when the puck is elsewhere isn't as easy as it might seem. We have some good refs and some not so good ones, but all in all they do a decent job. In either case the n goal call was the right call - the rules states interference either physically or visually witht the goalkeeper (both occurred).

Both teams are hurting and it sucks to be doing poorly when either team has seen better days.
