Maine 2012-2013 Fade to Black

Re: Maine 2012-2013 Fade to Black

I will try Otto's,

but is it better than the Pizza Joint on Forest Ave?
(that is my all time favorite pizza)... and there used to be a place called the Cheesecake Pizza place in the Old Port, and it was the best, with the best cheesecake... DRY as could be!

Never had it, will try it out today as I'm craving some pizza!

Re: Maine 2012-2013 Fade to Black

Congratulations to UMass Lowell on the Hockey East Championship! Great game. Well deserved. They are for real.

Once again, congratulations to Derek Arnold on the game winning, one and only goal of the game. The kid Whitehead kicked to the curb 3 or 4 years ago. Timmy is squirming as Stevie does a "full review" of the hockey program whatever that is. Derek is going to the NCAA's as a No. 1 seed. Ain't it beautiful?

And Whitehead should be left to coach the Black Bears in 2013-14 because why?? Anyone? Anyone?

Re: Maine 2012-2013 Fade to Black

Cause TIMMAY needed that roster spot for Klas Liedermark or Mark Anthoine, or John Parker, or Theo Andersson, or Carlos Amestoy, or Nick Pryor.

Arnold needed another year of seasoning, he'd have been better off if he'd waited a year.

No he didn't and in hindsight obviously whitehead was wrong v. Great leadership and on ice player. Lowell is where they are because of coaching. Same reason Maine is where they are.

Subtlety is lost on hokydad.

TIMMAY knows talent, and that was his asessment.

Been watching him for a while now, and DA has talent and plays both ends. I don't think he'd have necessarily been a season-changer for Maine, but he'd sure as hell have been a good addition.

I'm sure he's happier where he is right now, anyway.

Re: Maine 2012-2013 Fade to Black

I've eaten at Hampden Pats and Ellsworth Pats many times in the past, they're alright but they aren't Orono

Hampden Pats doesn't cook their pizzas enough (oven temp is too low or the conveyor is too fast or some combination). If we get our pizza from there we have to order them well done (1.5X through oven). Ellsworth and Bar Harbor (same owners) aren't too bad. Orono went downhill for a bit, but the pizza quality is back up and they are actually cleaning the place up a bit. Needs some renovations.

My in-laws used to own a Pat's franchise, so I know most of the pizza making secrets. The franchisees can basically put whatever they want on the menu. The pizza is pretty much the only thing they need to make a certain way. They buy pre-mixed seasoning packets to make the pizza sauce (only a few people know what is in this), mixed with certain kinds of crushed and pureed tomatoes, have the pat's dough recipe (which, at least until recently included lard), and use a well seasoned deep pan. I like it when Bruce rings me up in Orono, always gives me a nice discount.

Even a bad pizza is better than a Whitehead. He been fired yet ??
Maybe Timmay could open a Pizza place? Wood fired Pizza :D

Maine BBall beat Florida Gulf Coast, does that mean Maine BBall could have won its way into the Sweet Sixteen :D
