Maine 2012-2013 Fade to Black

Re: Maine 2012-2013 Fade to Black

well hopefully that concludes the Whitehead era..anybody think shore will jump?..couldn't blame him if he did

Dallas left Reilly Smith at Miami for 3 years.....Oleksiak only stayed at Northeastern for a year but I believe that was before he was drafted. At his age and the way he improved during the season I'd guess he stays.

Re: Maine 2012-2013 Fade to Black

A long season comes to a end...can't say that anyone is too happy...I've seen alot of good/bad since this Program began, but the way the direction is headed looks to be bleak to say the least,no matter how well or a stud or two this has run its course...Maine Hockey has hit the wall and there's no way but to Change and Rebuild...so some say Monday, some say next Season...but all in all this has been one BIG MESS. If they do something, lets hope it's with a Search Team, and that there is a cooling down before they decide what direction they take: Fire/Buy-out TW --- Continue w/TW and no Extension --- ?????? or none of the above.

arnold with the game winner...

under review
Bad call, good call... it doesn't matter. Season's done. And how appropriate that Derek Arnold sends Timmy Boy on his way, hopefully for good. The kid Timmy personally kicked to the curb about 4 years ago. Amen.

Re: Maine 2012-2013 Fade to Black

Enough with the rumors and inuendo. Coach Whitehead will be back next season....the only question is whether he will recieve a 3 year extension. I think that he deserves one......the team and talent is improving. I think that we'll see them make the HE semis next season.

Re: Maine 2012-2013 Fade to Black

Does anyone have actual proof that Maine is looking to change coaches or is there just a bunch of circumstantial evidence? Unless you've got first hand word from a higher up in the Maine offices I am not going to believe anything.

But if we are going to start rumors, I heard Rand Pecknold is asking for an extension at QU. Heard he wants Orono :D

I would say that everone is hoping, but the truth of the matter is the Maine Hockey fan has SOURED with what has become of this Program...and anything will be said to just get the Frustration out....even if its over and over...! As they say believe it or not.

I've read through Revelations in the Bible a couple of times, and unless I'm misinterpreting something somewhere... Plus, a comet is now visible in the sky, so I'm sure that's a sign!;)

Re: Maine 2012-2013 Fade to Black

I guess it possible the AD is/was going to pull the trigger no matter what but thinking their is a press conference to fire Timmay before the playoffs were even over seems far fetched to me. Was he going to fire Timmay if Maine won last night and Sunday Night, chances were slim to none. If the AD doesn't have a comment in Mondays or Tuesdays BDN then maybe I'll believe something is going to happen

Re: Maine 2012-2013 Fade to Black

Best of luck to all the seniors, hope you had fun at Maine and you're getting a degree. Wish you could have had more success on the ice but thats the way it goes sometimes. Good luck in future, what ever that may bring.

I expect guys to leave for a shot at the pros if they get a chance in the next week or 2

Re: Maine 2012-2013 Fade to Black

Nice job, Maine. At least Joey Diamond didn't embarrass himself or your program.

Re: Maine 2012-2013 Fade to Black

Nice job onion man. At least you didn't embarrass your self with saying Maine was the hottest team in hockey east and would beat Lowell in the series.

Lowell played well, but I'd hardly say your squad outplayed Maine like a #1 vs. a #8 should. Lowell got the bounces and Maine did what Maine always does (play stupid when it counts). Remember that it'll take a generation of Lowell wins to match what Maine has done on the ice in its history.

Re: Maine 2012-2013 Fade to Black

On a serious note. Maine played very well in the series, and they did have me on the edge of my seat. I know you don't want to hear it, but there is young talent on this team. And Martin is one hell of a goalie. Maine hockey will be just fine.

Well according to you, Maine was not your typical 8 seed. And as far as history, you are right! But go live in the past, because that always works out well. I will be in Boston Friday... Enjoying the now.

there is a lot more parity in college hockey nowadays, but... Lowell players can pass to the forehand and make it possible for the recipient to do something with the puck

Maine... not at all. Even on the PP it seems that Maine players have no idea who is a righty and who is a lefty, and these guys are supposed to be a planned unit, they should know. Lomberg and Anthoine have hands that rival Bellamy for the "I dated Medusa" award... yes Lomberg hustles, but passing and catching passes are not in his bag of tricks. Anthoine ... nothing when it comes to either hustle or passing.

I wonder if Shore sticks around. In my opinion, he is the very best player on the team... I have not seen anyone protect the puck like he does since Crosby, with that huge, wide stance and open wingspan.

Everyone loves the annual "flash in the pan" team. Enjoy Friday.
