MAC Hockey 24-25

MAC and the UCHC will go to a scheduling agreement. Wilkes and Neumann will move into the MAC as affiliate members. Thanks appreciate your kind words but let wait to see how it plays out.

Is this based on insider sources or your own projections?

"UCHC men’s programs will consist of Brockport, Chatham University, Geneseo, Manhattanville College, Nazareth University, Neumann University, Utica University, and Wilkes University for the 2024-25 season"

Looks like the sources were incorrect Dolphin, who would've thought?

Pay attention in the next few weeks and get back to me.

your welcome,

your source that isn’t right.

lots of movement.......Russell can a non SUNY team join the conference if they wanted to ??
Not Russell but my understanding is that as long as they are voted in by the current members there's nothing else preventing it from happening. I'd be surprised if that wasn't something the remaining teams would begin to explore given the recent defections...

Again let’s talk in a few weeks. Maybe you’ll actually listen. Good job on your source’s congratulations.

I don't have a source besides the very public record that everyone can see. Are you ok? Do you need help? You're no different than some of these other clowns on here

. Thanks I would imagine that would be the case, just look at college football, it's a free for all...

Technically yes. But I'll be shocked if the SUNYAC changes it's philosophy and ever allows a non-SUNY school in, even for one sport.

I cite football as an example. There are four SUNYAC schools which play football. They have always joined other conferences as affiliate members (NJAC previously and now Empire 8/Liberty League) to play in a football conference. The SUNYAC could just as easily have invited non-SUNY football teams into the SUNYAC as affiliate members to play football. But they never had a desire to.

I know travel costs were one of the main things driving brockport and geneseo to the empire 8/uchc so I did a little experiment where I relaigned every d3 hockey team based solely on location/travel costs and nothing like whether theryre a suny school among other things. Obviously this is just for fun So i dont want to hear some nerd tell me how unrealistic this is, but it is interesting to look at. As much as I tried only having 8 conferences to allow for 4 auto bids, d3 east conferences wouldve been too big imo and not allow for a lot of out of conference games, so were stuck with 9 conferences and 3 autobids (Also the conferences are quite well balanced IMO)

MIAC: Unchanged(Good Job Minnesota)

Outside of Gustavus Adolphus, I think every MIAC team is less than an hour drive from any other MIAC team. It's crazy.

Your Adirondack and NY conferences are really tough to figure out who should be in which. After all, you could just as easily swap Utica/Hamilton and Oswego. Since I'm too lazy to do the travel math like you did, I wonder if an East/West split works better than a North/Southwest split like you have.

Honestly the east west split isnt the biggest problem for NY teams, its those damn north country teams especially potsdam and canton. Plattsburgh u can honestly just group in with the vermont teams Also I very did not calculate travel miles I put each college as a point on a map and drew some circles of what I thought what schools were closet together so there's definitely some room for error.

I get that you were going for equal conference sizes, but the current WIAC/NCHA split makes way more sense geographically. Adrian, Trine, and Dubuque are in no man's land no matter what, but it doesn't make sense to split up the Chicago/Milwaukee/Green Bay schools. Maybe send Dubuque to the WIAC to get a 7/9 split.

If it's good enough for the MASCAC, could it be good enough for the SUNYAC?
